Sometimes we are at our jobs too long you can't imagine yourself anywhere else. It's kind of like the comfort zone we are placed in. When I worked at a grocery store I put in an application to another place and got hired. Then I was thinking... "should I leave, is it my time?" or I got the feelings like I may not know what I'm doing. THen I decided, it was time for me to move on. I was there for almost 3 yrs, worked myself up pretty high, but it's not like this was my career. So I left. THen like 3 weeks later, my old store started to cut everyone hours drastically--worse then where I'm at now.
Later I got an interview at Blockbuster and an organic food store and got offered the job. I turned it down because after thinking about it, it wasn't for me. Not that I felt "too good for it," but sometimes we need to make decision that will help advance ourselves or put us in the better postion to pursue our future plans and careers. THese jobs didn't provide that. Sometimes it's best to step back and analyze what's in front of us. You will know deep down if it's the right choice or not, just look past the "comfort zone" we make for ourselves. Don't make the decision based on how your current employer, friends or parents may feel, but whether or not you feel it's the right move to make.
Best of luck. I'll be praying.
