Some verses to think on . . .

Postby Kisa » Fri Jan 23, 2004 9:50 pm

I have two seprate verses here that I thought I'd share:

Romans 12:2
"And be ye not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."

When I read this it made me think of how with all that is going on in our world today it is so easy to get caught up in the wrong in ouyr culture. In order to overcome this we must continually meditate on God's word and do our best to serve and please Him. He has put us in these times for a reason and we have to rise above it and come to find what His will is in our lives.

II Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new."

When I read this verse, I realized that whatver we go through in our lives, and whatever trials God gives us, if we stay close to Him we will emerge as new and closer to discovering His will for our lives. I love this verse, because it tells you that no matter what has happened in the past, as long as you trust God and stay close to Him, you have nothing to worry about because He is with us and renews our strength.

Hope this helps someone, I know it helped me greatly when I read it!

Cool. I need something to think about (Haven't done much since... since... uh... well, let's just say a long time.:hits_self :lick: :comp:  )
"Akane's a sweet girl. She's just a violent maniac." -Kasumi Tendo

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." -Revelation 21:4:grin:

"It's a new generation
It's a divine inspiration
Always ready to follow
Ever willing to swallow
All the doctor's prescriptions..."
(Oingo Boingo, "New Generation")

Thanks. Here is another passage along the same lines as Romans 12:2:

"No man can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money" (Matthew 6:24).
