The Video Game Encouragement Thread

This is how it works:

List random games you still own that you started playing and never continued. People who have played the game, if they believe it is worth it to do so, will give you a reason why you should keep playing. List your location in the game as well. Don't post if your stuck on a boss.

Random Ones out of Many:

Suikoden IV ( I had to deliver something on a ship with HORRIBLE controls)

Wild ARMs (everyone but 4)- Just lost interest.

The Granstream Saga- Story was lacking.

Romancing SaGa- While it is highly superior to Unlimited SaGa (my friend plans on selling his GameCube and buying a PS2 so he can borrow this and Kingdom Hearts 2) it just gets old unless you play as "Grey".

Brave Fencer Musashi- Just returned the dog to that dude.

I started Metroid Prime, but never finished. It's just soooo long, lol.

I've started many other games, most of which I forget what they were, and never finished them. They're all down in the basement somwhere, collecting dust.

Final Fantasy 8 - Hm...I believe it was the end of disc 2. I couldn't beat Edea and couldn't find much motivation to, either.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence - Intimidated by this game.

Final Fantasy X-2 - Lost interest

Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams - Didn't like it as much as the other Onimusha games.

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition - I got convicted by playing as the half-demon son of Sparda...

Xenosaga - Waaaay too long cutscenes

Monster Hunter - ...I don't know why.

Legend of Zelda:The Wind Waker.-I'm up to the frustrating part where the Hero stupidly loses his sword.

Mega Man X8- I cant get past some of the stages due to the crappy level design.but I still play it for the heck of it.

Megaman Battle Network:Transmission- Again,Crappy Level Design and very difficult bosses.

All of My N64 Games-The N64 Controller Sucks.Plus without A gameshark my N64 games get boring quickly.

What part are you at? I can probably help you. The game is absolutely wonderful, and shouldn't be missed (IMO).

Those are rather annoying...but the items that give you a temporary burst of speed make the races much easier.

What exactly intimidates you about it?

That it's so much game you won't know what to do with it?

?_?

I mean, it comes with 3 games, not counting the monkey missions...

Guys, you all need to finish MGS 3. Yes, it's difficult, but so rewarding. Ever so rewarding. And try to tranq the bosses if you have the chance, especially in the case of The End. You can blend in just about anywhere in the woods with that. And
replaying with The Boss' gun and running around in Tuxedo camo
on your second time through is a priceless thing also.

Of the Zelda games there are only two that I have played and not completely finished. One is Legend of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link
Two is Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

AoL is just too flipping hard. And MM I have sort of beaten it. I have beaten every single boss and I have won the game, but not on one complete file... Because I can't get through the fourth dungeon. There are like 4,000 small keys and the place is sooooo confusing. Every other Zelda game I have beaten except for four swords adventure which I never played, and I probably don't ever intend to play.

Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI. I know, I know, they're all supposed to be incredible (I really was enjoying IV, I had gotten pretty far into it), but I just don't have the time anymore! XD I should work on them over the summer. *nodnod*

Games I have given up on...let's see...

Final Fantasy V - I'm in the final dungeon, right before the boss. I wanted to beat all the optional bosses before I took on the end boss, but I can't find the stupid Dragon Lances to beat Shinryu with. I have mugged about 50 Crystal Dragons and all they give me is Megalixirs. So I quit playing.

Disgaea - I love the storyline, the characters, the voice acting...but running around for twenty hours levelling up isn't my idea of fun. Especially when it's near impossible to level up Clerics because the ONLY way to gain XP is by killing enemies, which Clerics totally suck at. So I sold my copy.

Final Fantasy X-2 - No explanation required. XD

The Grand Theft Auto games - I love them all. They're some of my favorite games of all time. I've just never beaten any of them. XD;; Once the missions start getting really tough, I just kinda drift away from them. And after what everdred told me about the RC plane mission in San Andreas, I'll probably never touch that one.

Zelda II - I had every intention of beating it, but the difficulty level was just way too high. Plus, it takes like 3,000 XP to gain your last level, and I don't have the patience for that.

There's probably more, that I can't remember at the moment.

Xenosaga Ep. II: got to the 2nd last boss, that guy & proto-omega, tho i don't think i can actually beat em, i missed the 1st side quest and as such have missed out all the others & don't have that thing that allows ya to steal all those nasty ability skills and stuff. so i ma yhave to start over. :S

Star Ocean- Until the end of time: i'm at taht bit on disc 2 where i need to go to the ruins of mosel to fight the program things or something, can't remmeber too well.

Dot Hack Pt 1 - Infection: i've to go investigate some dungeon on the 2nd server where some corrupted data was found/and a player dissapeared.

Grandia 2: on my way to see the high priest person at the main temple with Elena. (near the start)

Skies of Arcadia- I'm leveling up to face the remaing optional bosses and to beat Ramirez at this very moment...so I should finish it pretty soon...

LoZ: Links Awakening- I faced the final boss...got killed...and then lost interest...

Shadow the Hedgehog- The only reason why I haven't completely beaten this game is because I let a friend borrow it...

Tales of Phantasia- I got annoyed with the all of the random battles...

Dragon Warrior 3- I was leveling up to face the last boss when I lost interest...

Ikarugua- I keep trying to play it untill I unlock infinite lives...but I keep losing interest...

Splinter Cell- I'm horrible at stealth action games...

Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System- I lost interest...

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles- Um...yeah...

Jet Force Gemini: Too Hard...

YOU ARE GOING TO POP THAT DISK IN RIGHT NOW AND PLAY IT THROUGH!

Seriously, the plotwists in this game (though somewhat predictable, but it's from the people who made Lunar, the game with the most obvious plot twists I've played) are sick, there are some wicked fun boss battles ahead and you haven't even seen Melfice (the memorable character, like a Sephiroth figure). Seriously, PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN!
