I heard it`s because you have a knife.

nah its cuz there is more blood the nife has nothing to do with it cuz it really isn't that graphic at least no more graphic that dynasty warriors (they have swords *gasp*) its rated M for blood violence and strong language not because of knife usage but then again it might have something to do with it but i doubt it

It's because it deals with some more "mature" things than in past games of the franchise. In the first level there is a torture scene involving defibralators that's about the worse you will find in the entire game. And of course there are increased amounts of blood, which still isn't saying much for Splinter Cell its still pretty light. I've played this game to death and I never heard any terribly strong language though.
You also get tortured later in the game but it's pretty torture "lite." Sam get's slapped around, punched, and choked but its hardly graphic.
Well, MGS1 (PS, not the remake) was M and it barely had any adult content in it... If the Meryl scenes (either the underwear thing, or the psycho mantis scene) had been in an RPG like Final Fantasy, it would have been "Suggestive themes" which earns a T rating. Because it was in an action game, it was "Mature Sexual situations" Of course, there was the ninja stuff (which is much less graphic than the GC version) so maybe that's what did it. Then again, thee is a suggestion of something which I didn't pick up on until it was pointed out to me, but I don't think the ESRB is that... Observant...

To them, soldiers dying from a massive headwound when they're shot in the foot, then disappearing a few seconds later is "Realistic Violence"

To answer both Slater and Orenji's questions...

TS3 is much like the second one, except for there's much more blood, and a lot more suggestivity in clothing and speech. Innuendos = a lot. It is genuinely funny in some parts, such as meeting past personas and poking fun at action movie cliche phrases.

As for Shadow of the Colossus, everything in that game is pretty much clean, except for some religious overtones at the end, but as I said, it's clean and absolutely gorgeous to boot.

Ahhh, one of the most memorable and beautiful games I've ever played...

No profanity. No sexual content. The only truly violent content is when you stab a colossus. A mist-like black liquid spews from the wound.

As for religious content, well, the main character(refered to as Wander), is trying to ressurect his dead love. He tries to so by doing what a mystical voice tells him. I would tell you more, but it would totally ruin the ending. Suffice it to say that what Wander is doing isn't portrayed as a good thing. At all.

What's the extent of the content(it rhymes, sorta!) in the FMA games? Is the blood just in the cutscenes? I played a demo and the only objectionable thing I found was a bit of language(how far does that go too?). I know it has suggestive themes, but what are they?
Also, are the games any good? The demos were really fun, but Shaman King was fun at first too. Thanks!

How bad is the sexual content in the Sims 2? Is it avoidable? Do you need to have a baby the conventional way or do your sims just say "Hey, let's have a baby!" "Okay!" My mom wants this info so she can decide whether or not to let my brother play it.

Okay, I'm asking again in the hopes that someone has played the game now. What is the content of Shadow Hearts: From the New World like?

Yeah I heard that it sucked majorly. All I basically remember from what I heard was that it was ridiculously difficult to direct the girl around and that she was extremely dumb.

Okay, J/K

Yeah, Pretty Much The Entire Game Is You Killing Demons, Dudes and What Not While Keeping A Cool Sense of Style, It Does Have Some Language, Some Relgious Stuff, Some Sexual Content and It Is Bloody, But It Is A Very Fun and Very Difficult Button Masher...

Devil May Cry 1: Lots of violence. Mostly bloody, not gory. Very little sexual content. Dante has a poster of a kinda/sorta topless girl in his shop(it's only seen at the beginning of the game). The naughty bits are covered by stars. Trish's outfit is kinda skimpy, but it's not that bad. As for religious content, well, you fight demons. I can't say there's anything wrong with that. There's really not anything that goes against Christian belief. I don't really remember much profanity.

I'll talk about DMC3 tomorrow. So sleepy....ZZZZZZZ

XIII isn't worth it. It looks cool, but the game sucks...there is a difference between insanely hard and frustrating. Ninja Gaiden was insanely hard...XIII is CHEAP. It's not much fun, anyway.

:o

Oh wow! I've heard so many people say that XIII was rubbish but I thought it was really good! What's not to like about a comic style FPS where you can chuck throwing knives and break chairs over peoples heads (plus your bog standard pistols, automatics, explosives etc). Great stuff!

As for Devil May Cry, I thought it was really good. Great action. Really tense. Plus your character has double guns AND a sword. How cools that! There are ghosts, demons and evil puppets in it plus quite a bit of blood (great scene where Dantes been impaled by a sword and he kinda pulls himself right through it with a lot of blood flying everywhere). Plus, he's supposed to be 'of demon blood' as it were. If that sounds a bit risky then I wouldn't suggest it. Otherwise, your gonna love it.

Now for Devil May Cry 3.

Sexual Content: Dante's poster girl returns, but strangly enough, she's got more clothes on. The biggest problem here is one of the bosses, a female vampire/demon who goes around totally topless with only strategically placed hair covering her.

Violence: A bit worse, than DMC1. Quite a bit of blood spray.

Profanity: Definitely more than DMC1, but it's only PG level. No sh or f words.

Religious Content: Pretty much the exact same as DMC1.

I love DMC3. It's definitely the best 3rd person action game I've ever played. If you get it, get the special edition. It's got more stuff.
