Help my dad

Postby Noodles » Sun Jan 16, 2005 10:30 am

I feel odd asking this since I am not really a Christian if you could really consider it. Well here is some background info on what I have to ask. A few years ago my dad was injured and was thrown out of his job after working for 20 years. Well he went to trade school to study up and get a new job. Right after he got out he became really lazy and gave up looking for a job. All day he just sits watching the idiot box ore looking at porn on the computer (in which I have yelled at him since he still is married to my mother and should not look at it). He has always smoked all of his life and is smoking more now. He is becoming a parasite to the family and he is holding us back and tearing us apart. The thing that bothers me the most is that he is becoming a bigot. You could be the nicest person in the world but if your not a straight "Christian" (in his eyes) white person he will automatically shun you. This hurts me the most because I have friends who are homosexuals, have different religions, and are different races. I get really offended by his comments to these things and he considers them "lower" than him. Anyways, with his recent changes we have been getting into more fights and he is soo stubborn he won't allow himself to lose (even though he lost the argument in the beggining he throws out random things to avoid it).

Please pray for my father to stop whatever is inside of him. Also can you pray for my mother because everything he is doing is killing her inside and out. Also for my brother and I for the strength to help my mother through this and to help us keep the family together.

I would like to thank you for spending time to read this and your prayers.

I'll pray for you.

The verse said by Jesus:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father but by me."

This means anyone can get to the Father--through Jesus. Tell him that. There ARE Christian gays, and there are CERTAINLY Christians of different races. Look, he's probably not "purebred" anyway.
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Im back to tell more things

I heard on the radio today, that a big misconception is that marriage solves sexual immorality. That is not true. Why else do you think there is adultery? And other stuff? Im not too suprised your dad is looking at porn. But since he claims to be a christian. Hopefully you can perhaps set somethings straight

I'll be praying that you and your family will be drawn closer to Jesus. It's in Him that we all can find true strength to deal with things like this. This is not to say that things won't be hard after becoming a Christian or confessing and dealing with sin, but it sure does help. I really pray that the God of peace will come into your family.

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

I'll be praying for you and your family.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

I will be praying for your dad as well as you and your family. In addition, I will pray for you; and although you say that you're not a Christian "per se," it seems as if your heart is in the right place and that the next step for you is salvation. Perhaps your own salvation might lead you to guidance from God on how to handle these family problems.

Thank you for spending time and praying for help. Its been a great help and its giving me the courage because I just talked to my mother about it and we are going to confront him again on these things. Hopefully it will turn out ok, if not that then we will try I again. I love my dad and I don't want to hurt him but it has to be done. I also don't want to turn out like him when I am a father because I don't want to put my kids through that. I hope that this experience will stop me from doing that. Thanks again for the help.
