Please pray for my sick friend

Postby Warrior 4 Jesus » Sun Jan 16, 2005 5:14 pm

I've got a very good friend who suffers from extreme chronic fatigue for a couple years now! and he used to take some anti depressants to keep fairly upbeat and positive. He gets really tired easily and is now off the drugs because he believes in the long run that they will do him more damage than good. He is in a lot of pain, suffering and deppression as he is having withdrawl symptoms.
He's had this sickness (extreme chronic fatigue for close to 2 and a half years) and its really killing me to see him as he is so much different to what he used to be. I know its all in God's hands, but sometimes I wonder why he is letting my friend go through all this. I've been praying for him and will continue to pray but it would be appreciated if others would pray for him also (as Prayer is not one of my Spiritual gifts). He is a Christian and his name is Daniel for the record.

One thing is, does this sickness make the person faint if they do active stuff over a long period of time or in the heat. If so, my friend has the same thing.

i will be praying for your friend for healing physically and mentally.

Not faint, just get really exhausted from doing next to nothing of effort during the day.
Thankyou for your kind prayers!

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. I'll be praying that God would give Him the grace that He needs to make it through this thing that He's going through. I'll be also praying for you, since you're in a unique situation to encourage him as he goes through this mess. I have a friend as well that is suffering through some physical things that she will probably have to deal with for the rest of her life. She deals with the same things: fatigue and sickness and depression. I can see in her life that it's really hard, but hopefully this isn't the case with your friend and that he'll get better eventually. I also want to encourage you in your prayers for him. Prayer for him is also unique to you, since you are his good friend and know better what struggles he might be going through than most people would.

I will pray for your friend. Also, remember that although some Christians are called to do more involved prayer than others, we are all supposed to spend that special time praying to God, regardless of our spiritual gifts. (And I apologize if I misinterpreted what you said originally.) :thumb:

Oh, and see the following thread for another recent prayer request regarding chronic fatigue:

Thanks everyone! Yes, Rogie I do pray, but I'm saying I don't have the spiritual gift to pray like some people do and for any longer than a couple minutes. But I do pray.
