Anyone do online RPG's?

Postby Jephtih Mullins » Mon Jul 21, 2003 8:33 pm

Im currently in 3

The first one I was in was called Unicorn Protectors. Im one of my original characters, a half wolf named Mohegan and a christain boy named Qyrin Mullins :jump: We havn't done it in ages cuz we're missing half the group :sniffle:

The second one is called Majik Kwest. Don't let the name fool you, we use the elements as magic, no witchcraft or anything Harry Potter-ish. Im a lone wolf with a Kyou (from fruits basket) like personality boy named Iden Feral, A quite and shy guy that has this rare dissease named Nuri Masafumi, and a half android named Ziven (real name samantha)

The third we just started with an old friend called....well nothing yet cuz we've only done 2 days worth. And im my original character, a half tiger named Kamanji Littlefield!

I find online RPGs fun. I have a feeling our own Spencer dose them. Am I right?

Yes. But now anymore.

About 2 years ago I was in 2 Online-RPG's. Nexus & Graal. Nexus was a good game. If your into old style nintendo rpg gamming. Its free for only 1 month. Then you need to pay 'so-much' a month. Graal is way better in my option. It is the best! even better then.... Ultima online..? YES! First of all its free, free forever. Another reason is you can create your own character (head, eyes, body, sword, shield), not laggy on a 56k, go on quests, gain levels, buy weapons, go to diffrent servers quickly, create your own teams (official), and even have your own house up somewhere in the 'world'. Also, you play with 3000 users in one server. My user name on it was 'Defected', I controls my team, 'The Deformed OutKasts'. I don't go on it anymore you'll see why. Time for the bad news...

'Now', Graal now charges $10.00 a month, hackers got in some servers, & lags like heck.

But if you wanna still check them out here are the links.

I used to RP online. I haven't in a really long time. If you (or anyone) knows of any good sites I could use that are free... Yes I did say free. Tell me! Thankz!

I used to play "Dark Ages" by Nexon - a Korean gaming company. It was fun for a while but the communit really wasn't in-character and paying $10/month for a stressful enviroment became tedious. I guess I'm a console gamer at heart. :red:

I also used to RP on message boards (play-by-message-board) for Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. That lasted on and off for four its - it's cheap and it's free! Plus it helps one's writing skills.

I wish I wasn't, but I am involved with several. Not because I don't enjoy them, but because I'm getting overextended, for someone without an internet connection. I do find online rpgs enjoyable, though I often find myself wanting more structure than they supply.

I used to be a huge member of the MMORPG Tibia. I stopped playing. I have been looking for another one, I will try Priston Tale.

Only those free trials. :) I’m not a fan of ‘em.

Planet Side - 7 day demo
Pros = battles are very large scale, nice ranking system
Cons = slow, very bugging, too much walking, no real community

E&B - 14 day demo
Pros = refreshing idea, nice community
Cons = buggy, slow, boring

Final comment on MMORPGs: Ok, let me get this strait; I'm paying a subscription fee, because the game's missing single player mode? :)

Link brought up an interesting point, the MMORPGS that are mainstream are always full of bugs, and you're PAYING them to play a game w/no single player feature. I would love to play something like Planetside (had some of the greatest battles on there), but the game is full of bugs, and very unbalanced. Might as well go with something like BF1942 or NWN.

I play Ragnarok Online. The english site is like, bad, the translator should be fired. But that aside, it's an awesome game. I love it (i play on Loki, name is Biri...i'm an Acolyte, PM me!!!)
They are pretty good, other than it's not free :stressed: and some things are frustrating: 1,You have to pick one gender for ALL of you characters. My brother bought our subscription, so i must play as a guy.
2, things are sorta short notice, like "in 20 minuets servers will shut down, they will be back up when they get back up" sometimes they have been down for a day, 2 was the longest they ever went. 3, as i said before, Engrish everywhere on the american site, and they dont up date that often. The last thing i find annoying, is they take a long time to put on patches, and new classes. We have to wait till January for 3rd classes. Check out the website if you want. http://www.ragnarokonline.com

I also have played something called "PristonTail" It's way new in the Beta testing, so it's frustrating to play, but it looks like it's going to be awesome once it's done! ^_^

I MUD. ^_^ Old school all the way, baby.

I just can't see how you could RP as well on a graphical thing, being stuck with the animations they give you and what not...

That having been said, should you ever be on one particular MUD and see a guy named Sanrel Sharir... Don't ask him to avenge your death. I failed miserably when I was supposed to do it for my friend. I put too much of me in him, and I couldn't kill a drunken chick...
