What is the Microsoft EULA? It just popped up on screen...

I don't know what it is...it says End User License Agreement, and I definitely do not want to end the user license on our computer...so...anyone know what it is?

It's the thing that says that you don't really own the software, but you only have a license to use the software.

The "End User" would be you.
The software would be that.
The agreement states that you know this.

Ah, thanks. I tried to read the thing, but it made no sense to me.

And indeed, it fools you, because it just doesn't make any sense to 99% of people out there who use computers, both because it's legal document (thus boring to read) and people just can't be bothered.

Ever looked at Windows 2000 SP3 EULA and read the part that says something like 'You allow Windows to send information to Microsoft for better customer support/product enhancement'. I see no difference between that and a spyware, just that spywares usually don't carry licences.

I hate Microsoft.

Ooh, that is annoying, and it's true. Microsoft did use functions in XP to spy on people to see if they had pirated versions of XP or other microsoft software, but the thing was, hackers got wise to it and use it to their advantage, creating a very effective backdoor into windows systems, so they had to fix it in early fixes... That's what getting paranoid gets you, I guess.

That's pretty funny, actually. No offensie intended. In this case, end is an adjective, not a noun. I'm reminded of the old Dilbert cartoon where Dilbert is offended that somone is protesting construction when he saw a sign that said, "End Construction."

Maybe you had to be there.
