Eh... this is more prep MONTH for me. Gaining detailed knowledge about 1922 and less detailed bits about the ~500 years before isn't something I'm gonna pull off in a day.

My situation is the exact opposite of Winry's.

2010: No planning. Had fun writing and I think the story was half way decent though a bit bland. Won.

2011: Some planning -characters and story hit points. Writing was a chore and jumped all over the place. The story felt like someone had put it through a shredder. Won.

2012: No planning! I am going to try a revamping of 2011's story with a lot of changes. Technically I've thought about the changes and things but I haven't written anything down so I don't count it as planning. I might also switch back and forth with a (intended) children's story I started earlier this year.

Wow, I've been browsing the NaNo website, and there is a LOT to look through with all the threads I'm interested in, haha. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. But, on the bright side, I wrote 2,915 words last night, so I'd say I'm definitely geared up for NaNo now. I'm on page 250 of book two, but I have the issue of possibly finishing it too soon. I really only want to work on this book right now, but I don't want to finish it before November because starting books is so fun for me and I want to be able to start November with the beginning of the third book. Well, I suppose I will just have to scale down on how much I am writing a day. Or just work on one of my other two books, so we'll see I suppose. I just don't want there to be too much time between book two and three, so let's hope I can get it figured out, haha.

I'm going to only do a minimal bit of planning, based on the suggestions of a writing site I like. Last year, though, I was finishing a story I had been working on for years, so this year I want to try not planning, in Pantser-style.

I'm in again this year and aiming to finish a WIP because I seriously need a completed draft of it soon if I wanna get it published ever.

I would *love* to participate this year, but I think school's going to keep me too busy for the month of November to really work on writing my stories. :-/ Ah well. I wish the best of luck to all who are participating! :) Have fun everybody!

T minus two and a half hours.

I've got something of a plot. I've got characters. I've even got a couple scenes thought up. But as of now, I have no idea how to put it all together. And I'm probably not going to be able to do much writing this weekend.

Time to start flailing. As usual.

So, with 11,550 words sitting before me, my novel has already taken three major plot turns that I hadn't been expecting. 1.) My main character (Okami) attempted suicide within the first 5,000 words. 2.) I laid down two viable options for her choose one or the other to take, and she bust through those and chose a third by a spur-of-the-moment decision. 3.) The characters I've been setting up as being against her suddenly revealed that they're doing what they're doing to her benefit for her strength. I have no idea what's going on, really.

Wow.... You're story sounds realy interesting! :D

But, with this being my first year, I think I wrote a decent amount. However, I'm on a bit of a writers block in terms of where to take my story at the moment.

Its :bang: annoying.

Sounds like fun, Okami XD
I wrote pretty much every spare moment I had during school today, including when I was supposed to be working, he he. And now I have over 2k. Which is really great. But so far...nothing too unusual has happened. I'm looking forward to having to make things up as I go along XD so it's a little boring. But I'm getting those words out!

I'm at 4K now. Glad to have a bit of wiggle room. \o.o/

So before November, I fretted about whether I'd get in as much humor as I'd hoped, since I've never tried to write humor before. Worrying about storytelling quality never occurred to me.

Everything I've written thus far is pretty crappy (beyond my regular first-drafting fare), but funnier than expected.

I'm calling it a triumph. :I
