Denim Fashions In Japan

Postby ashfire » Wed Oct 24, 2012 4:44 pm

I was just checking NHK English news on the internet and caught a little bit of a news item about denim being used for Japanese fashions.
They showed a man's and woman's komono made with demin.
Any thoughts?

Begone, foul '90s fashion, begone I say! Return to the infernal pit from whence ye came!

Oh wow. This is only lacking boots and a cowboy hat, and I would call it Southwestern fashion. I know people who might wear it. :eh:

It makes the kimono look, I dunno, cheap somehow...

A pity, because it's probably way expensive.

I think they need to use Japanese fabric for Japanese clothes. It's a total waste to use such an ugly, utilitarian fabric as denim.

Kojima keeps trying to brand itself as "jeans city" because it has one jeans company that apparently made it somewhere despite a logo that freaks me out every time I see it.

There are plenty of folks on the street with nice custom jeans. The kids especially seem to have nice, unique jeans. Always make me look like a hobo.
