Tornadoes out West

Postby Heart of Sword » Tue May 25, 2004 11:37 am

I just saw this on the news a while ago: about 55 tornadoes out west.

Anyone affected by this? *watches real version of Twister on the television*

I hope not...

And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

though I havnt been hit by tornados. We've gotten some warnings and such. It was cool on last Friday the sky got all pea green and swirly right before we had to leave from shcool so they kept us at school for like 45 minutes.

It got pretty bad. Then on Sunday night, we had a Watch and several trees near ym house (in my general are) blew down.

Wha--? Tss. Well there's $45 down the drain. *Takes off glittery red shoes and trashes them.*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

[complaining]Ugh! I'm about stormed-out. *eyes twirl in a Kenshin-esque manner* It's T-stormed all week (I don't mind that, I rather enjoy it, actually), but today there was a tornado about half an hour from my house, and a billion different waringins floating around. Floods, hail, tornadoes, and lightning. Our basement flooded. A lot. So we stood there for and hour, sweeping all the gallons of water down the drain, praying it wouldn't clog until the worst of it was over. [/complaing] Ah, well, I'll sleep well tonight. *lol*
Love wins.

I lived in the west for most of my life...nothing like that ever happened to me.
Earthquakes, fires, yes. Tornadoes? No. However, there were a few microstorms that happened over the span of my short lifetime...just strong winds that rip roofs off of a few houses, destroy mobile homes and tear the leaves off of the palms, but not much else...

Believe it or not, there's been less tornadoes here than usual! I like storms occasionally, though. Hey, ShiroiHikari, you're an Okie, too??? Cool! We must be the only ones on CAA. o.o
