Another review blog...

Postby Atria35 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:39 pm

Well, I've officially had this blog for about a year and a half now. I might as well make an annoucement of it on here, since a few other members have discovered it through my profile.

http://drawingdoors.blogspot.com/

It's pretty standard- anime and manga reviews, not much else. I'm also the official manga reviewer for the site Organization Anti Social Geniuses, but all my reviews that show up there are also on my blog.

I've actually had you bookmarked for quite some time. Let me know when you review the anime version of Nausicaa, okay?

xD Yes, I did. I try to give at least a little feedback on things.

I'm glad you like the setup. I consider it a work in progress, but that's because I'm a perfectionist.

EDIT: I, uh, do take requests on what I review. Anime and manga. Check my MAL for what's on my Plan To Read/ Plan To Watch lists. Or even on my 'watching' and 'reading', since I really need to get on some of those.

Could you review the following then?
Last Exile (I believe I'm the only person who liked this one. Can you prove me wrong?)
Haibane Renmei
Trigun (I believe it's available on Hulu. I already like it, but I think everyoe should check it out)
Excel Saga (available on hulu, youtube and funimation. I'd like your take on this wacky series)

Yeahsure. I watched it a while back- no harm in going back over it.
Haibane Renmei
Of course! As soon as I get my dvds back from a friend who's had them for the last 2 years. She has them... they just haven't been returned!
Trigun (I believe it's available on Hulu. I already like it, but I think everyoe should check it out)
I've heard good things about it. Most definitely.
Excel Saga (available on hulu, youtube and funimation. I'd like your take on this wacky series)

I second rocklobster's requests for Trigun and Haibane Renmei, particularly the latter. I'm really interested to know what you think of that show.

Yes! Atria-san finally shares her epic review blog! Trust me, people, it is worth your time. Very well-written, it's not amatuerish at all...these look like top-knotch reviews you'd find in a magazine, in my opinion!

I like how you're not afraid to state your opinion. You can be harsh at times, but that's a good thing!

Hey, I just thought of another great title to add to your to-do list: Captain Harlock! In fact, you can watch it on Crunchy Roll, along with Galaxy Express 999!

How about the Seikai Trilogy? That series could definitely use more publicity. I read the entire series and loved it.

Actually, it is a manga too. Tokyopop published all three volumes. They're called Crest of the Stars and Banner of the Stars 1 and 2.

Three volumes of a manga turn into a series that's 36 episodes long altogether? That makes me nervous about the manga! But I'll definitely be reading and watching them, because I've heard such good things. I'm hoping it will be like Planetes, where both the manga and anime are fantastic.

Actually, I probably read more manga than I watch anime, so you're not entirely alone XD!!

Since I own Solanin, that's the manga that I have the least excuse for having avoided posting a review for! I will definitely get on the rest ASAP, too.

The Megaman NT franchise is like Megaman crossed with Yu-gi-oh. No really.
Oh, and if you've seen it, you must review Cowboy Bebop. It's a landmark title.

^ Seen it. I just wasn't sure about posting a review simply because it's a landmark title. I figured I would try to focus on lesser-known or not-as-watched/read series. But if I've seen it, then a review can't hurt.

Ah! But I have a secret to my success: Please note that I fill in the time it takes for me to churn out one full-legnth anime review with reviews for really, really short manga. I read fast, so I can easily read a 3-volume series in a day. After that it's just a matter of writing the review.

This is also the reason I don't really have any reviews for legnthy manga, which I need to fix. And will be shortly.
