Leonardo Da Vinci to go all Indiana Jones on the big screen

Leonardo da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever

Sci Fi Wire wrote:We could buy turning Sherlock Holmes into an action-adventure hero. But Leonardo da Vinci, the man who painted "The Last Supper" and "Mona Lisa"? That we'll have to see to believe.

Which is exactly what Warner Brothers is hoping we'll want to do, because according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has picked up a treatment titled Leonardo da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever from producer Adrian Askarieh, who is teaming with Vertigo's Roy Lee and Doug Davison. Askarieh came up with the original idea and wrote the treatment, and a search for a writer is now under way.

In addition to being a painter, Leonardo was also an inventor, engineer, architect and mathematician, so the project re-imagines him as a member of a secret society who falls headlong into a supernatural adventure that pits him against biblical demons in a story involving secret codes, lost civilizations, hidden fortresses and fallen angels.

The Hollywood Reporter is calling it National Treasure and Raiders of the Lost Ark by way of Clash of the Titans.

Are you ready to see Leonardo kick butt on the big screen?

It does sound strange but with the combined knowledge of Leonardo Da Vinci and a story involving secret societies and fighting demons, I don't know. It might just rock!

I have no idea what to think about this. XDD

I guess we'll just have to wait and see! What an odd idea for a story, though! XD Leonardo da Vinci was way too busy being really smart and being really, really good at painting to have time for adventures! XD

Seriously, Leonardo is fascinating. I'm taking a Renaissance Art class right now, and he was quite well-rounded. I don't see any need to make him more 'high-octane' than he really was, however. That's just silly.

My favorite part about Master da Vinci was that he was too busy trying everything and exploring possibilities, that his actual body of finished work is relatively small. XD Gotta love a guy who's pulled in so many creative directions that he can barely choose. ^_^

This movie sounds right up my alley.
"To be a good listener, you must acquire a musical culture...you must be familiar with the history and development of music, you must listen...to receive music you have to open your ears and wait for the music, you must believe that it is something you need ...to listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit. A duck hears also." - Igor Stravinsky

That's what I was thinking too, except Dan Brown's version wasn't quite as cool as that.
