Postby Kenchii » Sat Apr 10, 2004 1:01 pm

Well I have decided to create a shoujo club. Err, yeah. That shoujo's do your read? Well, I have read some. I am a shonen fan as well.

Project Arms
Last Order
Azumanga Daioh
DiGi Charat
GYO
Fruits Basket
Flame of Recca
Wedding Peach
Exel Saga
Angelic Layer
Cardcaptor Sakura
Ray Knight Earth
Wedding Peach
X/1999
Revolutionary Girl Utena

My favorites are X/1999 and Ray Knight Earth.

PS. Can someone correct me, is it Shoujo? or Shojo? Thanks..

EDITED: Thanks Staci for the correction! :)

Shoujo looks to be the correct answer, Kenchii. This is where I gathered my information from:

Hope that helps! :thumb:

Oh, not that I am looking to join the group, but I figured I could list my fave titles, too!

  1. Fushigi Yugi
  2. Cardcaptor Sakura
  3. Alice 19th
  4. Ceres, Celestial Legend

Ah, I've read so few shoujo titles! But now that I have read some of them, I'm hooked! I love the real-life situations found in many shoujo mangas. Anyway, I'm currently reading:

Azumanga Daioh
Parfait Tic!

I love Azumanga, but my favorite by far is Parfait Tic! (Mave actually got me started on that one, thanks!)

Anyway, I think shoujo can be spelled "shoujo" or "shojo", because since the Japanese use a different writing system than we do it's kind of up to the individual translator. Although if they're using the second one, usually they do it "shôjo". I'm just saying this because there was a small article about it in Animerca mag, and there really is no wrong or right way...

Lol, aren't they funny? And Osaka's dream! (in vol. 2) I nearly died laughing! I also think Chiyodad is funny. Sakaki sure has a wild imagination...

It has to be a "long o" -- so it can't be shojo, that's a short o. Either shoujo, shoojo, shôjo or shojo (with a bar over the first o) -- but not just "shojo."

Myself, I like Furuba a lot, naturally ^^ also Maison Ikkoku.

Sign me up! Vive le shoujo! I love shoujo! I read it all the time. I mean, a guy has to be pretty straight in order to put his straightness on the line by reading shoujo. Of course, nobody ever turned gay by reading too much of one kind of mnga. That said, I only like REAL shoujo. I don't mean that pseudo shoujo like Fushigi Yugi where they actually have FIGHT scenes. I only like the really sugary girly stuff. Like peach girl, and kare Kano and stuff. That does'nt mean I don't like Fushigi Yugi like manga (FY is actually one of my faves) but I don't like it for thesame reason I like other shoujos.
