This is a world where spaceships rule the skies, but Victorian era cars and fashion rule the ground-- I was expecting a duel with old-fashioned swords, and then these two giant autobots come out -- I just thought it was a great touch.
Wow, you sounds awfully disappointed. But you actually don't understand why the cold-blooded killer wanted to finish the last blow with his own hands? Well if you're a mech lover, I guess you'd do it all with the robot-- but Gankutsuou is a hating manipulative villain, of course he gets more satisfaction out of a "personal" touch. Final blows must be emotionally epic.
