Am I hallucinating or did you just ask how The League of Extraordinary Gentleman was in a manga thread?

Please elaborate.

Hello Tom. Allow me to direct you to the post directly above mine.

The only ones that really keep my interest are Berserk, Hellsing, 20th Century Boys, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Every other time I pick up something, I just can't manage a single volume. These days I'm mostly just reading American/European comic books like Sandman, or The League of Extraordinary Gentleman. Stuff like that.

Thank you for your time.

Yes, it's quite good. I can't say much about the second volume (I'm thinking of picking it up tomorrow), but the first one is really great. It's not really anything like the movie, which does a good job turning it into a horrible monstrosity.

But really, you just have to read who the author is: Alan Moore.

So yes it's good.

Hmm, might have to give it a second browse then.

And that name means what to me? I'm sorry, I just can't see the argument in an author's name guaranteeing the quality of his individual works.

*Is completely hypocritical in that he does the same thing for Naoki Urasawa.*

Well, it doesn't. However, I have yet to read a single Alan Moore comic that wasn't excellent. So in this case, it does.

FLCL. I hear such great things about the anime, yet the manga is crap.

Same for Q-ko as well. I was hoping it'd be good, but the mangaka doesn't know how to tell a story at all.

I never have high expectations for manga that comes out AFTER the anime.

Have you actually seen the anime and then felt the manga was poor? Personally, I think the two have a very similar feel and I dislike both, but perhaps that's just me.

I've seen precious little of the anime, honestly. I've just heard good things about it. Hilarious and such.

As to Q-ko, the art's kinda neat, but the storytelling just doesn't cut it for me. Your mileage may vary.

I actually quite liked the Scrapped Princess manga, but that's probably an exception. I had one qualm about it though, and that was that Raquel seemed to be an airhead in the manga. In fact, I'm thinking about continuing the series, once I get some cash of course...

It's possible. For example, my first exposure to it was about a third of an episode I caught randomly on Cartoon Network. I also saw about five minutes at an anime analysis event at a convention. Either qualifies as "a little" in my book.

Cromartie High School. I didn't think it was that funny. The anime is much better. :(

Suki by CLAMP and almost everything else by them -_- It was too short, there was a section of a porn novel in it and the main character seemed mentally imapaired.

Count Cain or The Cain Saga by Kaori Yuki... I should have known that I wouldn't like it...with her titles including yaoi and incest...this had abused cannibalistic children how ever. The characters didn't interest me that much and every story was basically Cain meets some one, people die, cain figures out what is going on, people die, cain punishes wrong doer, they die. I found the stories extremely depressing and pointless, really devoid of hope.
And now that it has been released in the states I see it has a big 18+ stamped on it.

I've lost interest in DNAngel, Tsubasa, Ghost Hunt, Her Majesty's dog and many others.
