I tend to play more of the 'weaker' characters, and I tend to kick major butt with some of them. I dislike most of the 'power' characters.

SigmaKnight wrote:Where is the originality? Where are the bowser characters? The zelda (not sheik) masters? XD

I've been working on Zelda for a while now. I can really whomp on people in 1 v 1, but I'm still working on FFA4 strategies -- it's hard. Zelda's recovery move is absolutely awesome, easily one of the best in the game.

SigmaKnight wrote:Where are all the people that actually kick butt as pichu or jigglypuff?

Jigglypuff (Purin -- Japanese language setting. Much cuter audio clips. :dizzy: ) and Pichu are my top two. ;) I have a rather un-erring accuracy with rest on Purin (>95%), and Pichu is my goof-off character. With Pichu, my goal is to annoy rather than win. Inevitably, I lose stock matches with Pichu, due to self-inflicted deaths and Pichu's incredibly light weight (far more of a disadvantage than the miniscule self-inflicted damage), but I usually score over 75% of the total KOs when I play as Pichu.

Best Character (Preferred Costumes), in order:

Purin (Green Bandana or Red Flower...Hat...Thing)
Pichu (Goggles. No exceptions.)
Peach (White dress)
Zelda -Shiek (White dress)
Mewtwo (Standard color)

Pro-tip: To get good/better with a specific character, find a friend with decently comparable talent to your own, and identify your character's weaknesses. Then, practice against that friend while your friend intentionally tries to attack that weakness. Make sure your friend is still creative enough to keep you guessing. Once you have your weaknesses covered, focus on your strengths.

My favorite pass-time? Practicing my rest by grabbing all of the university's best Purin players and having a four-way show-down with the lazy bugger. Whiffing Rest is FATAL in these matches, and you either learn real fast how to hit it accurately, or you lose.
Embraced by a gentle breeze, my heart breaks as I think of you.
All alone at the top of the hill, I watch as the seasons go by.
--
Wishing for courage softly, I pray.
There's no going back now, to those tender days when you held me in your arms.

It would kinda depend on where you were recovering from. If you were knocked upwards a bit then Jigglypuff's would probably be more effective. On the other hand, if you were down a ways from the edge, Zelda's would be much better.

So really, it depends. (My Electric Circuits Teacher's favorite answer to any question!!)

ahh, i hate floaters because they're the best against my top characters. most of shiek's tilts send the opponent up in the air and are meant to start combos. however, it's pretty hard to start a combo on a jigglypuff or kirby that dodges the second attack coming after i get 'em up in the air with a tilt. marth has more range so it's not as bad but there are other reasons why marth doesn't go well against a floater. at least for me.

More than likely. Link has the grappling recovery too, but I think his secondary jump is not as high as Samus's, so she's probably the best from down low.

But yet again, our favorite answer, it depends. If there isn't any ground for Samus's or Link's grapple arms to latch onto then those recoveries are useless and Zelda is back on top.

But then that depends too. If you're too far out to make an effective teleport back then Peach would be your best bet since she can float closer and then use her up-B.

There are probably more 'it depends' I could think of, but I think I've made my point. ^_^;

I used to actually have a game and watche... It wasn't a wrist watch, though, so I guess it was just a game and clock... Mario Construction (if I remember correctly, the game and watch thing on homestarrunner is pretty close to that) I actually remember waking up to that alarm... or rather not, because that cute little high pitched beep wasn't quite enough to do the job...

A bit off topic.

My characters are usually Marth, Zelda and Sheik, and Samus. A while back, I would have said Samus was my best character, but I've been using Marth and Zelda a lot more recently. I've been learning to time things better with Marth's counter and I've had a lot of fun with Zelda's smashes.

My favourite stages are the ones with relatively little disruption, so Fountain of Dreams and Temple. I can't stand any of the Metroid levels, Flat World, or the F-Zero levels.
