In need of some prayer

Postby Destroyer2000 » Mon Sep 25, 2006 5:04 pm

Lately, for some reason, whenever I run or move too quickly I get dizzy, and my right side (arm, leg) goes numb. It was both, but the left side is too mild to matter really. I don't know why, I had considered a brain tumor, but I would be having massive headaches and such. Blood sugar was also a possiblity, but I think I have ruled that out. I have come close to blacking out lately, as well. THree times today, I believe, but I was hungry and it was before lunch, so that might actually have been my sugar levels. I'm not diabetic, that I know of. Anyway, it is somewhat scary. My grandmother thinks it is just hormonal changes, which makes sense. I'm 17. But I hate not being able to run like I used to and move like I used to be able to. I hope it wears off. I know we have a few med school students and a doctor or two, so if this sounds familiar, let me know. Thanks.

That's... odd :/ No clue what it might be but I'll be praying.

I think this is "go to the doctor" material. No, it's not hormones. Definitely get blood pressure checked and discuss the full list of symptoms with the doctor. Have you had your blood pressure checked? It might be low or else you are dehydrated.

I'm not a doctor, so I'll just do the pray thing.

Lifting you up, bro. Keep us posted.

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Thanks. This morning, I had to run to catch up with my mom. I didn't even think of the side effects of what it would do, and I didn't get dizzy or anything. But then on the way back (I was barefoot. The ground was cold) I thought about it, and got dizzy. Weird.

Hormonal changes? I think I was going through a similar thing as you Destroyer2000. I, in the past, had grown an alergy to mint(might have also been to spicey, but I didn't like spicey anyway). Later on, I seemed to have been able to eat it again without the reaction.

You might grow out of what you are going through now^^
Have faith
-From somewhere in the Bible, and I agree with it

-God will only give you what you can take. He will not overwhelm you.
-From somewhere in the Bible

-Your faith becomes stronger when it's tested.
-I saw a Chinese guy with a cross on his restaurant desk in America. That's so cool. You can do that here. Not so much China.

I've recently been learning that I don't need to be "loud and pushy" to Evangelize; just living it out is enough witness. The problem was that I grew up around strong Evangelists (Korean Christians) and they were really into getting people involved and setting out to Evangelize, and me being a a yes-man (or yes woman) I was into trying to convert people.
I've been learning this lesson over the years, but have been trying to be pushy. Now I'm trying to ease off.

Thanks. My mom just took my blood pressure. It was slightly low, as was my pulse. Blacking out is caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain, correct? Perhaps I don't breath correctly when I run, and since it seems to be somehwat low, I might not be getting enough to start with. Keep me in prayer.

You probably need to see a doctor for a tilt table test(it does what it sounds like...tilts you around)...they never went that far with me(I black out on occasion when I stand up), but if I were you I'd get it checked out...

I'll be praying...

Hehe, it's STORYtime.
I guess when I was about 21 or so, I started getting dizzy spells. Real bad ones, where the whole room spins like crazy and you can't walk straight (vertigo). For a while I had them really frequently. At one time I had them timed to about 14 hours apart, for about a week. Since then they have come and gone, and in varying forms. Sometimes full-blown vertigo, sometimes just the elevator feeling, where the room jumps for a split second, sometimes a general feeling of disorientedness, making me sick to my stomach. Sometimes they'd come on instantly, and other times they'd progressively get worse. Usually afterwards I'd feel like I needed to sleep for hours.
Thus, the nickname "dyzzispell".
Anyway, I had all kinds of tests done. I had an MRI on my head, glucose tolerance test, inner ear tests (no fun at all!!)... and everything came up showing no abnormalities. Gotta love doctors who do nothing for you except give you bills and a shrug of the shoulders. :eyeroll:
Well my father-in-law is a nutritionist. He does live blood analysis - where he puts a drop of your blood under a microscope and tells you what is wrong. Seriously, there are certain things to look for in the blood that are signs of weakness. Like for example, sometimes your red blood cells will look like phantoms, like they aren't really there. This means your blood is not carrying oxygen as it should. You can actually see viruses, histimines, parasites (blech!)...
Anyway, he said my problem was a sugar intolerance. My body does not metabolize it correctly. The glucose tolerance test didn't show that. Anyway, once I started eating right, eating more complex carbs (whole grains) and less refined carbs (most junk foods), they started to go away. Now I rarely get them anymore. VERY rarely.
Point is, you can have a doctor check you out, but if you can find a nutritionist, that may help even more. They can help you change whatever you need to in order to help fix the problem. Believe it or not, the saying is true "you are what you eat". The two worst allergens to the body are wheat and dairy. Cut those out, and a lot of people would be a lot healthier.
Yeah I know "you gotta have your milk!" But that's simply not true. You can get the same vitamins/minerals elsewhere. (Fresh veggies, for example.) I can't drink milk anyway (lactose intolerance) and I'm doing just fine without it! :thumb:
Anyway, my father-in-law's office is located in NY state, and sometimes he goes down to North Carolina to an office there. I don't know where you live so I thought I"d mention it. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions. Or simply ask them on this thread and I'll do my best to answer them.
In the meantime, I hope you feel better soon. You'll be in my prayers!
In Christ,
Dyzzi
