once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love

my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make

I've seen this before, but I think I'll watch it again. ;)

I do have one question, though: does anyone actually buy multiple copies of a piece of software for each computer in their own home?

Companies do.... esp. if they don't want a visit from the piracy police.

I think software licences have changed, for some things anyway. That's the final answer on what you can do with the software.

I see...I heard on Tech TV that companies don't care if you make 2-3 for home use, although they will get suspicious if you start having more than that.

"one program on one computer"

Yet more reason that consoles are better for games... I can take a small DVD to my friend's house, instead of a heavy computer and monitor...

I can't believe I watched more than 2 minutes of that. Awful.

This is generally considered acceptable.

Note that some software companies will allow this as part of their licence agreement (and if you've ever read those things, some of them make you promise to do some really stupid things... i.e. - some have told you you can't review or write about the software.)

This is where you use the "book" rule for software, but since most people don't have enough morals not to pirate in the first place it really doesn't matter.

The "booK" rule works like this: You treat the software like a book, I loan the book to you, I can't be reading the book while you have it... you still leave the software installed (games, etc) but you don't run it till you get the "book" back (at which point the person you loaned it to stops using it).

This like the above rule of multiple copies on your home personal machines is generally considered acceptable practice.
