Wow... just wow. Absolutely NOTHING like what I was expecting, but in a good sort of way. This cd is just beautiful. If you're a techno fan, definitely worth a listen.
I love electronic music. What does is sound like or feel like? What musical themes does it have?

Well, if this was any of BT's previous work, it would be SO much easier to describe. I wish I knew more about techno, but I really don't know much about how the genres break down. I've heard of so many different subgenres of techno, and only one or two I can really differentiate. I know that BT's first two albums ('Ima' and 'ESCM') were trance, while the two more recent ('Movement In Still Life' and 'Emotional Technology') were more along the lines of Electronica. The only way I can describe 'This Binary Universe' is as a mix of (what I think you would call) ambient and trance.

Here, I'll just take this directly out of the wikipedia article:

Yeah. There's no way I could have elaborated in such a way. I hope this helps in some way ^^ Though this disc is DEFINITELY worth it, it's pricey. Only two stores in Augusta carried it, one for $18.99 and the other for $17.99. The disc actually comes with a DVD as well, which features a music video for all seven tracks (all seven tracks total about an hour and fifteen minutes). The DVD also has audio in 5.1 Digital Surround Sound. It's definitely safe to say, though, that this is BT's finest work as an artist. Ima was my favorite album up until today :thumb:
I'm sorry for the delay in responding, I didn't realize you actually came up with one. To hear the samples from it reminds me of the straight up Electronic stuff I love on the internet radio station Limbik Frequencies at http://www.limbikfreq.com/ . While people tend to shortcurcuit Electronic music into "techno", there's an incredible amount of diversity, as much so as there is ways of using synthesizers. You're probably going to want to check out albums by Delerium like Poem and Semantic Spaces, as well as Civilization by Front Line Assembly, and almost anything by The Future Sound of London, especially Lifeforms, Dead Cities, and My Kingdom.

Hey - how is that album? I love Jars. My favorite cd is Much Afraid, I love Redemption Songs and Eleventh Hour, but the other recent ones I've not really liked. How does it sound? What does it compare to? Too many questions.......

Dude, I don't even know how to describe it.

I love their newer stuff a lot, so I'm biased, but it's a lot edgier than their usual stuff. It has a lot more rock. It's a heavy album thematically, but it's very, very good. I highly recommend it. "Oh My God" is the best song on the album, but everything on it is good.
If you like Much Afraid, I think you would love this one.

I also purchased that recently. What do you think of it? I had it for about a month before it was released but it is amazing. Definately their best effort. Also bought The Fall of Troy's Re-release which is also awsome.

Yeah, it is seriously good. I heard some people whining about how they didn't like it but it's about ten times better than Odd How People Shake and about five times better than Art Damage. Some of the lyrics are a bit disturbing (although that doesn't quite bother me much anymore now that I've come to grips with the fact that I really like the Blood Brothers XD), but overall, it's fantastic.

Speaking of the Blood Brothers, I just got...

This Adultery Is Ripe - The Blood Brothers
March On, Electric Children - The Blood Brothers

...for 19.16 on CDnow.com Yay for used stuff.
