Dating

Well, after 21 years of bieng single, I am now dating. Her name is Ashley, she's awesome, and is almost exactly like me in many ways. However, we live far away from eachother. It's a long distance relationship. "Long" as in I live in Ohio and she lives in Texas. Just please pray for us both that we stay strong and, despite the distance, we grow both together and with God. Also pray for our parents. My parents are happy but are skeptical, I think. As well, I can say for sure they would not want me driving alone to Texas. Also pray for her parents. She hasn't told them yet that we are going out. Her father isn't big on her dating and absolutely against the notion of her trying to come to Ohio to visit. Just prayer that we will be able to get it so we can see eachother in the next few months (hopefully during winter) and this, ultimately, won't affect our relationship.

I'll pray for the both of you. I know how tough a long distance relationship can be - I've been in one for over 3 years; thankfully, we're from the same town, we just go to college far apart.

Since both of your respective parents seem so aprehensive, if you plan to meet up with her, a thought might be to bring the parents along so that everyone can meet everyone, even for only a couple hours. I know my parents are very reassured by knowing my boyfriend's parents; parents can be very protective when their children start to date, and dads can be especially protective about their 'little girls.' Her dad might simply be aprehensive about her dating a guy who he has never met and confirmed to be someone who can be trusted with his daughter.

She is 18.

Well, God has been working in this. I got to talk to both her father and mother and they are awesome people. She said they seem positive about me haha. As well, I will be going down to Texas on the 30th. I was going to take a train down there but it would of taken around 29 hours to get down there. I can afford if as well. However, by the grace of God (and talk about timing), I finally got a good paying job that will extremely help with the cash of getting down there so I decided to go by plane which will take like...3 hours maybe haha.

So please continue to pray that everything works well.
