Anyway, back on topic, someone in the YIM chat said they wanted to see a review for Those Who Hunt Elves, so I'll probably whip one up this weekend and submit it (it's only six episodes long, shouldn't take that much time).

[quote="Kumagoro"]Elfen Lied is a fantastic series. It’s one of the best anime series in recent years. Sure, it's horrendously bloody and violent, but don't judge whether a series is "good" or "bad" entirely on its objective content. Seeing as you only saw the first five minutes of the first episode, you’ve probably only encountered the graphic nudity in the opening animation sequence and Lucy running around naked exploding people’s heads. It's not all blood and guts and naked girls]
I don't want to start up discussion on this again, but I think this is a good place to ask a question: how is the Elfen Lied anime handled? I didn't watch the anime for many reasons, but I do read the manga. Considering that it is still going, how did they end/develop the anime? If you feel this question will only derail the thread, feel free to PM me your answer.

I would like a Roujin Z review. It's the only Otomo anime I have yet to watch.

I wrote up a Magic Knight Rayearth review yesterday. And I won't be doing a Elfen Lied review at least I don't think I will.

Hmmm, I could probably do one. I'd have to review the series, so it will take a little while. However, I'll do my best to get one done.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I know someone else who's also interested in the series (it's his favorite), so count this as an anonymous bid for a certain Mr. X

Hittokiri, that's actually a series. It'd be better to do all the volumes.

I know I'm mostly a frequent lurker, so it might be a bit of an odd request, but...is it OK if I do a review of Princess Tutu? I've just ordered the entire series off of Deep Discount DVD, and I have a feeling I'm going to go through it all as quickly as I can anyway, so...why not review it?

That is, unless there's already a review pending.

I'd like to claim a review for Diamond Daydreams.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Don't claim it; do it. Too many people claim series they never actually do, which leads to the problem we have below.

The list here is too unweildy to maintain (accoding to the first post, anyway). Gypsy has threatened to go through and re-work the list, but for now it's a bit out of date (like, a year).

If we get a good review before you finish yours, we'll probably take that one.

Am I allowed to do Battle Royale I and II? Both are live action movies based off a novel. They do have a manga counterpart however.

Now you know what I mean. Wiseguy. :P

But I understand why you would feel the need to post a reminder. To me this thread is a courtesy to clarify who wants to review what, and I wouldn't volunteer a review if I weren't, as Gypsy said, "serious about writing it and [couldn't] do so in a timely fashion." But I realize that not everyone complies with that request. Hence we end up with a severely out-of-date request/volunteer list. ;)

At the moment, no. The anime database is really just for anime. You could review the manga if it hasn't already been done, but that's a matter for a different thread.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I went back six pages and I didn't see it.

Could someone please put up a review of Trinity Blood before it airs on [adult swim] on September 9th? It seems interesting but I'm worried that it might have some satanist themes, so I'd like to read a Christian review before watching it.

Thanks in advance!

I don't recall any significant discussion of that title. While I can't review it (having seen only a preview at a convention and some Japanese episodes) I could give you a basic answer as to the content question:

There are no Satanist themes unless the series takes a bizarre twist later on. Plenty of violence, plenty of vampires, plenty of religious details from authors who didn't do any research about Christianity. But actually, the main character is somewhat like a real priest and his faith appears to affect his life. It's far from Christian, but worlds above Hellsing, for example.

I would like to see the Maison Ikkoku anime reviewed. I already read the manga and I love it, so I was wondering how similar they are.
