Thanks for your prayers all.
Our flight out was rough - well the flight itself was fine, it was the airport that was rough. We got there 3 hours early in case of problems. We ended up taking off 4 hours late, so we were in the airport for 7 hours. And I don't think it was a security issue because we got through check-in and security in half an hour. We got some storms and stuff, and the airport was just crazy backed up. We ended up arriving in San Fran about 2:30am, which means we got in at about 5:30am Eastern time. We were up for about 24 hours that day.
The trip home was much better. We got through San Fran check-in and security in 10 minutes, and left on time. We actually got in about an hour early, too. Must've caught
some tailwind! But waiting for our luggage here was a pain, since the baggage claims kept breaking down...
Anyway, all went well, and it was a lot of fun. We went to Japantown in San Fran. Although it's small, I really loved it. I got to have real (or as close to real outside of Japan) ramen and a fruit-filled crepe. They have some great merchandise out there too. I wish NYC had a section like that. I'd go to the city more often if it did.
Here's Japantown's site!
