Who likes Contry?

Postby Kiba-kun » Tue Aug 01, 2006 6:09 pm

I've noticed that some people on CAA act as though country music is poison to their brains. So I want to know who really likes country. Not a "Well I don't mind Country" deal I mean a "I turn to the Country station atleast five times a day" deal. As for me, I love country! So what's your opinion?

Edit:: Please Ignore that I spelled Country wrong in the title. ^^; I'm not that stupid.

Why must we be abandoned in times of need?
Do others not see when we yearn for their touch;
An insatiable hunger only they can feed.
Left alone with out their words – fallen into darkness.
Stumbling blindly without their light,
We fall and scream, knowing we've faced too much,
Knowing the only answer is flight.
Flight from the lives we once faced
And the joys and terrors others have brought.
Our time with them, a time of joy and life,
Wonder we all, was it for naught?

I don't love modern country, but Johnny Cash and Johnny Horton are great.

I've never owned a country CD.
I do like it when it comes on, it has it's good as well as it's bad sides.

Yes. Modern 'country'... well... uh... I dunno. I've heard more than I care to about sexy tractors and people being friends with Jose Cuervo >.>

But you can't go wrong with some good Johnny Cash XD

Also... I wouldn't have noticed that you spelled 'country' wrong in the title if you hadn't said so ^^

I quite like Alt-Country and newer forms of Bluegrass, I'm not so keen on most of the mainstream Pop/Rock-Country though ^^;

Old Crow Medicine Show rocks and I also like Alison Krauss and Union Station, Nickle Creek, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and a few other acts like Kathleen Edwards.

I also recently heard of a group that does 'Death Country', which I'll have to investigate ^^

And yesh, Johnny Cash is teh coolness :grin:

Nowadays when I think of country, I think of the newer young stuff like KT Tunstall and Brandie Carlile. Though none can match to Cash. =D

I like some of the oldies...

Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, Tennessee Ernie Ford and people like that.

I also like Hank Williams Jr, George Strait, Keith Urban and a bunch of alt-country artists.

Well, I dont' listen to much country, but some is good. I don't think you should go to country threads or any kind of thread on a certain kind of music and bash it.

i like some country, but that bluegrass stuff (sorry if you like it) I can't stand. I like Faith Hill, Shania Twain, songs with a more contemporary sound; I know what you mean here you would think country music was the plague or something. It's now that bad, I just like other stuff more.
