Hmm. Mebbe I shouldn't post here? I really don't have anything to say, being a fourteen-year-old-never-been-kissed-couldn't-care-less type person, except that it's always crucial to listen to what God has to say, and not let our own desires and what-not get the best of us.

A new heaven and a new earth:

Rev. 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Now's the time for salvation, don't worry you won't miss out on marriage or kids. Revelation states that after this earth there will be a new one (either created or this earth restored?) and that you'll be able to have a family. Some people are born to reproduce and others are born to make a difference and break the chain of stereotype etc... Others are born to do both. I'm just saying as Zealous as I am. I still put God over Women.

As for the question of being able to have a family (i.e. getting married, having children) in this new heaven and new earth, I'm not exactly sure about that. I found this verse, but I don't think it answers that question definitively:

Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

Eh? I don't remember reading that in Revelation either. I do remember Jesus saying something about no marriage in Heaven...

Just to answer your question, St. K, the Mormons believe in the concept of a full afterlife and the ability to have children in heaven (the concept of spirit children is very important), among other complex issues after death. These concepts are at best controversial from a purely Biblical viewpoint. However, that's a topic best discussed in a true theology forum, which this isn't. Here's a few references for you:

I'm pretty sure that the Mormons use the KJV (although they did make their own translation at one point), although it is an arbitrary choice.

I can see how it is possible that there could be marriage on the new heaven and new earth, although it is not explicitly stated in the text.

As for the question of being able to have a family (i.e. getting married, having children) in this new heaven and new earth, I'm not exactly sure about that. I found this verse, but I don't think it answers that question definitively...

"At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead--have you not read what God said to you, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living" (Matthew 22:30-32).

That seems pretty clear. When we are resurrected, we "will neither marry nor be given in marriage..." I suppose it could be construed to mean that only those in the second resurrection (that is, of the sinful to judgment and damnation) are referred to here, but that is not what the text says. I guess we will all find out some day...
