Thanks for the game last night, MS. I hope I wasn't too much of a newb - getting lost a couple of times - but at least I didn't get killed.

I'm not all that effective as a tanker, yet, either. I need to work on my Taunt to attract more attention on me.

Oh you're welcome man. And no, you weren't bad at all. You just need to learn to use your map and remember to get missions and you'll be fine. :)

As for taunt, yeah that'd be really helpful. I can't remember, what is you defensive power? You should probably up that too so you can take more damage.

Yeah. The map. It's a good thing.

I have standard involunerability. I've been working more on offensive power in the low levels so I can solo. Now that I'm approaching the good levels to start teaming up, I'll work more on my defensive powers.

Well, it's after the weekend. I tried to post here on Friday, but I was downloading CoH patches at the same time and my laptop couldn't handle it. Well, that is, my Verizon internet connection couldn't.

Anyway, I have my own account now and I currently have two PC's -
Miyu Fumizuki (lvl 5 Tech Tanker w/ Invulnerability and Energy powers) and Carmina Gadelica (lvl 6 Mutant Defender w/Radiation and Dark Energy powers).

You're brother Global Friended me last time we played, but he really friended my brother, who is a cool guy, too. (Probably more so than me).

It's just as well, I spent the majority of my weekend playing through Half-Life 1. I didn't really play much CoH at all.

New character! *Writes down name so he can search for it later*

Yeah we knew, we just didn't know when you were gonna get your own account. We'll be on the lookout for ya. I'm pretty sure I'll get on today, especially since my 2 Gigs of RAM are supposed to show up for my laptop today.

Sweet. I tried to do that, but my old laptop can only handle 512 M. Between that and my sub-par connection, I have a real hard time in large groups.

Anyway, I've taken to naming my characters after .hack root towns.

Dun Loireag is my latest - a Science Tanker with Fiery Sheild and Ice powers. If I make another, (s)he'll likely be named Lia Fail or Mac Anu.

Well that just stinks. That's how much my laptop used to have, and yes that does mean I got my 2 Gigs of RAM yesterday. Tis quite awesome.

Okay, I'll keep an eye out for all those characters.

I'm completely stuck on the Jewel of Hera quest. No matter how much I comb the area over and over again, I can't seem to find the last enemy(s) I need to get to clear the area. I can't figure out if I'm blatantly missing something, or it's glitched. >_<

I'm not familiar with that quest, but I have found enemies hiding in corners and stuck in ceilings. The map may not be useful in finding corners you haven't been to, especially if there is more than one level on the map. You will fill in the map by going under or over the same area on another level. It made one mission I was on really frustrating because it had like five levels stacked on top of each other with no clear means to get from one level to the next.

Yeah, it's one of those irritating 'Blue Cave levels.'

Took me forever to even figure out how to get to the top level. And I'm still not 100% sure there aren't levels I've missed or other entrances on those other levels.

Yeah, the whole "levels" things on the map really stinks, you can barely tell that there are multiple levels. They should probably look into fixing that.

Sorry to hear that. Those are a pain. I kind of wonder if the confusing layout that makes the map worthless is done on purpose.

The pay-to-play thing kept me from playing the game for about a year, then my brother started playing, so I finally gave in and paid up. Since I joined, I've also hooked up with MasterSquirrel, his brother, and another RL friend of mine. All in all, I'd say it's been worth the subscription fee. (I paid for a year in advance, so it brought the price down to under $12 a month, too).

I have fun playing the game by myself, but it's really fun to team up with people you know, too. If it’s within your budget, I hope you will come and play with us. I’m on the Liberty server.

I searched for ANOTHER hour tonight and found nothing. It's irritating enough to make me want to just cancel my account alltogether.

Well if you can't find a guy after you've looked that long, the only thing I can suggest is restarting the mish. Though I do realize that if the mish is rather large that you wouldn't want to go through all that again, but it's better than spending another hour looking through an empty place for someone who is apparently really good at hide and seek.

I've restarted it three times. :shady:

...Ooh......

Uh. Well that sucks. Well, have you tried doing it with a group of people? When you do that there are more people to fight and they're sometimes in different areas, maybe that'll clear up whatever is going on. Plus, more people = better at scouring the area.

That's all I can think of anyway.

For all those who are currently playing, or are planning on starting playing before this weekend, I have a wonderful announcement for you!

City of Heroes News Board wrote:Heroes and Villains, Many of you have heard about it, and now it is quickly approaching. All players get a chance to earn Double XP (including double Prestige and Inf/Inf) just for playing the game THIS weekend. Here are the times: Start: Friday, July 21st at 9am PST / 12pm EST Finish: Sunday, July 23rd, 8:59pm PST / 11:59pm EST Why are we doing this? Why, I'm glad you asked! This is a special thank you, because we really do appreciate you all-through the thick and thin. You get to decide how you want to take advantage of this. Perhaps you want to work on your alts, or get that one character up to level 50. It is simply all up to you. So what is the catch? No catches. It's just that easy So let that XP just pour in...and HAVE FUN!

That's right! Friday morning at 9 Eastern time all players on City of Heroes will earn double exp, influence/infamy, and prestige for everything they do! In other words, play your heart out!!

I know I'm going to. :)

Oh my word.

I finally got my new computer up and running for CoH. It is amazing. It's like going through life with poor eyesight not realizing what you weren't seeing. And then you put on glasses for the first time. Wow.

You stink, y'know that? :P

I actually was able to up the environment graphics without the thing dying on me, so I guess that's a good sign, but I'd really like to see what the game looks like on a truely high-end computer.

I'm sure that eventually I'll get a high-end PC of my own, but for now my laptop is doing quite well. I mean, now as I fly around Atlas the place doesn't look like it's in a deadly thick fog anymore. ^_^ If I hadn't gotten those 2 Gigs of RAM my laptop would've died.

Welp, I've had CoH for almost 18 months now. If anyone's still playing, I'm on Freedom. I have several characters, Devout Knight (41), Father Nightroad(28), and others. If you're interested in teaming up, lemme know.

I've been playing for about 8 months, but all my toons are on Liberty :(

If/when I branch out, I'll have to give Freedom a try.
