Firebird messed up

Postby Straylight » Sun Jan 25, 2004 9:34 pm

I've got a bit of a problem -- Bookmarks in Firebird seem to have been broken. I've tried wiping the MozillaFirebird directory clean and rextracting the zip but to no avail. Anyone know how to clear all the Firebird settings off the machine in Windows XP? I suspect this will fix the problem

Thanks.

I've had a bit of a prob with this myself - in my case, it was as if I'd never attempted to make a bookmark at all. I grab the link in the URL bar and drag it into the bookmark toolbar to set it instead. I'm not sure what you mean by "broken", though, so this might not help at all...-_-

Um. Which MozillaFirebird directory? You will probably have to delete the directory (profile) in which all of your settings are for Firebird. Then reinstall (or open the browser) and hopefully everything should work again. I've had the same problem also and I think that will work. I've had too many bad experiences with Mozilla bookmarks, usually when editing them, so now I usually just keep back-ups of them every so often.

I ran into problems years ago with Netscape, lost all my bookmarks.... the backup idea is a good thing... and I think they even have an extension for Firebird to automatically do that each session or something.
