Putting Audio Cassetes on the computer.

So, I was wondering what I would need, from what I hear, you need a soundcard with a line in or mic in (I have a mic in, so not a problem there) and then you need some sort of cord to connect the computer to the stereo system...What cord do I need? If possible, could someone give me a link to a product? Thanks very much!

I know someone else who is in the process of doing this. They're using p2p networks for the songs they have legal copies of. For other ones, a line-in port on a computer and the freeware program audacity. Any 1/4" mini to 1/4" mini should work. Test out the quality first, though. Good luck!

It depends on the type of output sockets on your stereo. Usually you'll need a L&R RCA connectors to 3.5mm stereo connector (that one connects to line in).

It would look a little like this:

You should be able to get the cable from a Radio Shack, or perhaps even a 99c Store. Places like Best Buy and Circuit City may have it, but they may charge $8 instead of $0.99.
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.
