On another note I am starting to like Sai a bit more. Whereas when he first appeared, he annoyed me greatly.

Sai still annoys me. He went from being a wierd, bishie-looking emotionless guy to a wierd, bishie-looking, indecisive emotional guy. The end of the last chapter just felt really... cheezy to me. :/

To be honest, I wasn't really expecting a climactic ending to this arc.

Nor was I, actually, but it still could have been a bit more interesting. As UC said, I believe, if someone would die, it might actually move things along.

The mention of Uchiha Madara was interesting, but it was basically Sasuke in a samurai getup owning everybody.

Yeah, Madara sounds interesting (though the whole Sharigan stopping the Kyuubi seemed... wierd. This had better be explained later...).
And thanks alot, Kishimoto. Stopping Sasuke before he used "that" jutsu makes me curious enough to stay and find out what "that" jutsu is (someone joked about it actually being a new form of "Sexy no Jutsu" XD ).

Plotwise, it struck me as too soon for Naruto and Sasuke to have their final battle, assuming that the manga does indeed have a long way to go.

True, true. I actually want that to be the last battle.

I am 50/50 on that. I think Sasuke might end up fighting his brother after the naruto fight so he is not so revenge hungry or something like that.

Strange. I thought vice versa. Or maybe having Itachi die by someone else's hand (Naruto, perhaps?).

That would be an interesting twist... My guess is that Sasuke wont stay all revenge hungry forever. Naruto should have some effect on Sasuke's current emotional state... He did on Sai. I think it would make the Sasuke vs. Itachi battle more interesting if Sasuke was i dunno.. nicer(for lack of a better adj.)

Heh, that summary is fairly accurate. I certainly didn't expect Naruto and Sasuke to have a climactic fight, but at the same time I was hoping that a bit more would happen. Say, for example, Kabuto had died. Right now the arc feels like a lot of interrupted fights.

MasterDias wrote:I'm hoping that Team 7 will have a better performance in this next mission...

I'm glad they're going on a mission as opposed to training. But this could be anything from something entirely new to fighting Akatsuki. We'll have to see.

Myoti wrote:The end of the last chapter just felt really... cheezy to me. :/

Personally I could let it pass, but I see what you mean. Everything about Sai has felt rushed to me, like he was added because a character was needed. If we'd seen him longer and his development had been more ordinary, and then the same thing had happened I probably would have felt it was good.

Myoti wrote:And thanks alot, Kishimoto. Stopping Sasuke before he used "that" jutsu makes me curious enough to stay and find out what "that" jutsu is

Of course, that was his point.

It IS a bunch of interrupted fights. o-o

I know, which makes... mad in a way? XD

Regarding 311: I don't like the new exploration of Sai's feelings, primarily because I don't really care. But it is good that he is staying on as a character... perhaps he can develop some actual depth. Meanwhile, I do like the aspect of Sasuke's growth possibly being unnatural and I am at least curious about what this training technique for Naruto is going to be. From the moment Kakashi was introduced I have been wondering when the main characters would surpass him...

Myoti wrote:It IS a bunch of interrupted fights. o-o

Most arcs in any shonen manga are a bunch of uninterrupted fights or a mixture of the two. But it isn't good if it feels like different events slapped together.

Maybe Sasuke has to have periodical treatments to keep his abnormal growth. Then he will miss one before he fights with Naruto and he will be a whimp. Maybe not. The exploration of Sai's feelings felt akward IMO. Ive also never thought of Sakura as a hag. *shrugs* Has anbody thought of sakura as a hag??

Finally got around to reading this chapter:

I don't like the new exploration of Sai's feelings, primarily because I don't really care.

Ditto. It felt a bit "cheezy" as well, too me.

Three good things in this chapter:
-Sai wearing clothing that makes him look less gay.
-The "Hag" line was pretty funny.
-Kakashi is back! Well, for now, anyways.

And the next chapter is already out, more or less continuing the same themes. I can't say I liked it in particular (but I tend not to enjoy antics-based humor) but at least the chapter moved along the plot in certain respects. Evidentally Naruto is actually going to get a jutsu of his own, but through some cheap way (of course). Meanwhile, more Akatsuki is always fine with me.

Mind PMing where you get your chapters from (I think you did before, but I lost the URL)? The site I use seems rather slow in getting them out (I'm interested in your mentioning of Akatsuki Xp).

My fav part in the new chapter is that there is finally a new demon thinger. The two tailed one. The Ino part was really funny too.

Then again, she might get captured/drained before she does anything at all. I don't like to think it, but I get the impression that Gaara and Naruto are the only two who will do much of anything.

"It's not like you're going to get stronger overnight, like the main character in some novel..."

For some reason, I found that humourous.

And finally we get the side characters back! Sai's becoming slightly more interesting now (or just humourous, whichever).

More Akatsuki as well. I'm a bit more interested in seeing what Kakuzu can do than Hidan (maybe because he doesn't look so "bishie," as so many of these guys are doing. ). And I'm betting on what uc asid about this two-tail girl. :/

Probably a nekomata/cat, if Kishimoto is following the various legends. Admittingly, I am somewhat worried that what UC said will come to pass.

I'm hoping at least one other Jinchuriki besides Naruto and Gaara escapes from Akatsuki.

I would like to see some Jinchuriki join Naruto and co. instead of getting drained...

Yeah, that would definetly be interesting (or suck, depending on how Kishimoto handles it).

Unless we had them both going into crazy tail form all the time... :/

Do you think that we will ever get to see Naruto in all Nine Tails form?? And by having nine tails, does that make him the strongest?

Hah, true. Would make the story wierd, though. Since it'd just be, ya know, reliving the attack on Konohona incident from before.

(Just caught up on the manga.)

I agree. I've been feeling like the battles have been all about the Kyuubi, and I was glad to see some signs of Naruto wanting to fight on his own power. Besides, I don't trust the Kyuubi.

Ooh, and the reference in Sasuke's sword's name made me smile.

The key thing is that he's alive. I'm happy about this, because I want to see him deal with having to fight without an incredibly unfair advantage. That's also true about Naruto, but apparently Sasuke can do that now.

MasterDias wrote:I would like to see some Jinchuriki join Naruto and co. instead of getting drained...

Or at least become a significant character. One with a name, perhaps.

Sai wrote:Do you think that we will ever get to see Naruto in all Nine Tails form?? And by having nine tails, does that make him the strongest?

I certainly hope not. It wouldn't make sense, since four tails did such heavy damage to his body. I hope that Naruto will make the Kyuubi chakra subservient to himself if anything.

I remember correctly, the sword's name is from a Japanese legend in which the hero Susano-o slays an eight-headed serpent that is terrorizing the land (incidentallly, the serpent is named Yamata no Orochi or just Orochi). When he slices off the last head (in some versions, the tail) he finds a legendary sword inside, which comes to be named Kusanagi. Though, considering Sasuke's relationship with Orochimaru, it's probably only a reference and not symbolism.
