This guy is in immediate need of prayer.
He's in college, and had just fallen in love. Long story short, she used him like an old rag. He's been dabbling in Wicca, bisexuality, and I think he's been cutting (he's not one to think things the whole way through).
He's talking to me on IM now, just told me about how she used him, and he sounds very muchly on edge. He told me that he had almost commited suicide on Thursday (when he suspected her deception), and it sounds like he's about to try again.
Please, my brothers and sisters, this man's soul needs peace. Please pray for him.

See later post for update.

Since it's been like 5 days since this was posted, can we get an update?

Plus, ignorant me, I need a definition of the cultural term "cutting". I assume we are talking about something associated with a sharp object and not lack-of-attendence at a school function.

Humorous section over. Seriously:

Threats of suicide require immediate intervention. This is not something you need to keep "just between" you and your cousin. Personally, I'd leave the discussion of Wicca on the back burner for now...that's not something that can't be remedied after this person's life is more stable.

Time to talk to your minister/pastor seriously about this. Your cousin will thank you later.

I am sure there are many of us praying about this.

Taken from the context, it's safe to say that she's referring to the practice of self-mutilation with a knife in an attempt to deaden emotional pain by overwhelming it with physical pain. It's a nasty and addictive practice.

I'll be praying for your cousin. Any chance we could get an update on his current condition?
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Thanks, guys.

My pastor is my father; my cousin doesn't attend church and lives on the other side of the state.
I'm going to talk with a youth pastor friend about this next I see him.

Rick's doing better now, his focus has shifted from this girl to the military. I'm certain that he's not completely over it, but he is no longer suicidal.

I'm a bit late, but I hope things are going okay for Rick. Sounds like he's really hurt, and I will definately keep him in my prayers.

Though this is a really old topic, the subject of it is in need of serious prayer again.
He tried to kill himself again last night. He was in the military, but I'm fairly certain they get discharged for things like that. From what I've been told: he is doing okay, and my aunt and uncle are going to his base to tend to it.
He's going to be really shaky for a while... please keep him in prayer.
