*agrees wholeheartedly* The recent movie adaptation (there are other older ones which are a little better) is so terrible that if I give away the climax and the ending it won't ruin the book for you at all. Yet, if it attempted to be its own story, it resembles the book enough that someone who's read it before will think the movie is some sort of rip-off.
