MGS4: I didn't care until now

Also... Is meryl against snake now? And raiden is the new ninja... Snake looks even worse at the end of the that trailer. This looks pretty freaking awesome...

So far, though MGS4 will be awesome, PS3 and 360 are about even, so once again it will come down to preference, and I prefer the game that owns all, MGS4

...........That was one of the most incredible things i have ever seen. I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!! The story seems to be even more epic than MGS3:snake eater. I also do think snake will be dieing

Well if it's just pure stealth I'm not really interested. But I do have to say again it looks beautiful! oh the FPS part is in the old trailer. And thats the reason i am gonna buy a PS3. I am basically a all console gamer so i would buy it anyways

#1 Nate. What I meant is, I think Kojima is gonna kill Snake off. He lied about who Big Boss was in MG3, so I would not put it past him to lie about this.

#2. Yes, Raiden looks cool. I told someone months ago I thought they would give him Ninja armor. It makes sence since he was using the sword at the end of Sons of Liberty.

#3. The gun in mouth thing, if Snake thinks his genes could be used to continue the vicious cycle, then he may try to end it. I cannot see him blowing his head off though. Won't happen. Kojima would not have shown it.

#4 I am stoked to see Meryl back. That shuts up all the punks who were too lazy to read "In the darkness of shadow moses"

All in all, I think this game looks amazing. Snake Eater will be a hard game to beat, but with mention of Outer Heaven, Foxhound rebanding, and other things...it should be a good game. [/SPOILER]

It isn't supposed to strike terror... It's supposed to calm them down and throw them off guard.

Something I didn't pay attention to until it was pointed out to me was the DESTRUCTION... I still remember when everyone was getting all excited about the destruction in Half-life 2... Well, apparently destruction is very important for this game, as snake's hiding places will be destroyed (buildings) and the environments are fully destructable...

That doesn't interest me as much as the story... This is supposed to wrap up all the loose ends left in MGS2... Come, 2007. Come...

[spoiler] I was just thinking. If Snake does kill himself in order to eliminate his genes, I would think a sidearm just isn't going to cut it. It still leaves a corpse to loot all the super-soldier genes you want from it. IIRC, one of Liquid's demands in the original MGS was for Big Boss' body to get his genes from. I assume Snake wants to avoid that possibility for his own genes. In that case, he would need to eliminate his entire body as well. A pistol doesn't do that. It puts a hole in your head and that's pretty much it. From what I know of Snake, he thinks things through better than this. So I'm not sure he'll pull the trigger. But then again, what do I know? Well, Raiden, it pains me to say, but it wouldn't be the first shortsightedness on Kojima's part... One only need hear the words "It was 200 hundred years ago today..." In other words, saying that MGS2 takes place around 1976??? Hahahahaha! So, he has most of his ducks in a row, but every once and a while one of them is doing a jig and threatening people with ninja stars.

Kojima explained it well, about Raiden, and I agree with him.

I honestly don't think Raiden was ever that bad of a character. So, he's a whiny teen. And? He's not as cool as Snake. People only really disliked him because he wasn't Snake, not because he was some doofy boy.

Kojima also said that in MGS2, Snake is still the main character. To give him more depth, you get to view him through another characters' eyes. If you check out the recent Kojima-video-interview on Gamespot, he says he wanted to show that Raiden could be a cool character. This is also another reason for making Snake an old guy. So now we play as a crusty old man while this cool ninja guy does lots of crazy moves and hacks up robots with a sword. It's almos a sick vengeance on the fans. : P

A sick vengeance I am all for. I thought MGS-Raiden was pretty cool ~ still do, as a matter of fact. And not because we share a moniker, either. Now, to see him take on the mantle of high-tech ninja pwnage lord makes me quite happy. Rock rock on.

I like Raiden, too. He was an awesome character. I was really REALLY surprised to hear that people complained about him, but I did sorta want to see what Snake was doing the whole time...

I, personally, wonder about what happened to the bottom of his face. Is that facepaint, ala the Skull camo from MGS3 [maybe a nod to his old "Skull Suit"], or is MGS-Raiden losing a little of his pretty-boy face? He has certainly changed a lot.
