100% Agree.

Star Ocean The Second Story was incredible, I expected Til the End of Time to be just as good if not better. I was sorely dissapointed.

Chrono Cross.

Gamespot heralded it as one of the best of all time, with a perfect 10. There was too much hype, so the game couldn't live up to that. I played the first without much knowledge of RPGs, so it was far more memorable.

Plus the fact that the cast of characters was immense turned me off, too.

*gasp* blasphemy!

chrono cross is my favorite psx game of all time, like ever. kinda funny how one person's favorite is another person's disappointment.

anyway's my disappointing game was ffx-2. ffx was soooooooooooo amazing!!! and ffx-2 was so... mediocre... plus all the scantily-clad women were annoying

*gasp* How dare you say FFX-2 was mediocre! ;)

See? It works the same way for me. I loved the battle system in FFX-2. But I agree with not liking the whole scantily-clad thing. I purposely made Rikku a white mage so that she'd have some clothes on. :thumb:

(GASP! MSP, I am so buying that game.)

( ::snicker:: )

(For me, probably Star Fox Adventures. It was fun for a bit, then you get to that village with the strong guy, and you have to do that annoying pushing game. I tried for weeks and weeks and never could beat it. Then I discovered that you could use a pencil and so completely pwn him with that. I went on and would have beaten the game within a week, but after that I was just turned off on how easy that was. I mean, I tried so hard, and hard, and then a little pencil did it easily. I don't know, but yeah. It was like I had to use the trick (because I have issues with repeated movement like that - I have trouble clapping for more than a few minutes) or I couldn't beat it. Grr. The rest of the game was mediocre, and the ending was probably incredible, but I was just turned off by the one minigame...)

(I suppose I think differently about games than other people - ah well.)

Homeworld 2 and Ground Control 2. Homeworld and Ground Control were amazing and fun to play, but the sequels stank badly after the huge amount of hype. I guess Deus Ex 2 falls into this category too, tons of hype but a terrible game.

I hated Halo. So derivative. I guess I expected more originallity in the gameplay. Just a FPS with some extra graphic features. A huge disappointment. And boring too. Too much hype. Give me the Thief series anyday, or even the original Unreal Tournament.

I always thought that Tekken had a weak ending. Don't get my wrong. I liked the game play and all but going through all that dame play for a 10 second clip that didn't make sense unless you routed through the manual for the characters background seemed a bit sub-par.

And Matt Hoffmans Pro Bmx. 24 tapes and 3 gold medals for Tony Hawk on a surburban chopper... Waste of time.

You.

Die.

Now would be a good time.

Yup, Halo was derivative. Yup, it pulled a bunch of stuff from previous series like Marathon. Yup, it had lines directly from Aliens. But I don't remember playing a game for so long. I've played the Halo series for a total of 5 years straight now, and I still love the crap out of it. Boring? I remember the first time I met the Flood...in the middle of the night...in the dark... as that door BUSTED OPEN and I was all like, WAAAAAAAAAAHMOOOMMMY! and the Marines are all like, AHHWE'REDEAD!, and the Flood are all like, GRRBLAH! and I'm all like POOPMYPANTS!

But you get marks for liking Thief and UT. So no hard feelings. I'm just a Halo fanboy.

But, anyway, Black was a bit disappointing for me, as was PDZ. Rogue Agent didn't live up to the name it carried, and when I found out Boogerman, a game I always wanted to play as a kid and finally got a chance to when I was 15 or 16, was just...well...gross...I was disappointed. Oh, and Virtua Fighter 4. Then again, Soulcally spoiled me.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this. It's just my humble opinion, though, remember that ;)

I've played FFVII, FFTactics and FF X-2, and I have never been bored with any game so much in my life as those three games. I think they're vastly overrated.

Really?

Are you serious?

'Cause.... That was seriously the easiest minigame ever to spawn of all minigamedome, until the minigame king would finally come from his mighty throne of kingy minigamekingz to earth, find this minigame, and barf upon it's easy-ness...

O_o

>_>

<_<

I completed the minigame in under a second... literally... and this was like... when I was.. 13? 12? I dunno...

But, yeah, the only thing that disappointed me about this game, was the very low replay value.

I completed the game once, picked it back up around a couple of years later, went 50% of the game, and just didn't care anymore...

BUT Assault was even MORE of a disappointment! I didn't care at about 35% through the game my FIRST time playing it! O_o

Let's see...

I'm sorta disappointed by Metroid Prime... What's the story, again? Have I just not picked it up? Have I not been paying enough attention?

Is the story not "Onoz nid nu partz cuz sut brok?"
had enough.

Halo 2. Never in my life have I been SO dissapointed by a sequel. Halo CE was a brilliant game. Halo 2 was.... blah. No semblance of balance, HUGE auto-aim, and worst of all, the game required NO tactics. The closest it comes to tactics is "Grab the power weapon, win."

When I hit pause and saw a list of Mission Objects, I knew there was a problem with Halo 2. Man, the levels of Halo CE where so open and the battles where super dynamic on the harder difficulties... Not in Halo 2. Interesting places there, but very closed and linear.

Now, Halo 2's awesome multiplayer was it's real saving grace... seriously.

Star Ocean The Second Story was incredible

...or it could have been. Parts of it were like 'cough' ffIIVripoff 'cough'. I sold it to a friend in the end and he loved it, so alls well I guess.

FFX was a biiiiig let down for me. I sold it six days after I bought it. Now before you all flame me I'd like to say that:
1 - I loved Blitzball, I think they could have sold that as a game on it's own
2 - I loved the way you could control the summons

But come on, how short can you possibly make a game?

Also, I think the whole Tekken series is over rated. The movements so slow and frustrating that after one round I just want to throw the consol out the window.
