Christian metal was around long before Living Sacrifice, but I would say they were definitely influential on a lot of bands. You need to get The Hammering Process. It's a great CD.

They began in 1988, so I think they would have been one of the harder Christian metal groups.

I got The Hammering Process and Concieved in Fire but thier music, to me, isn't something special. The only thing I see them for is the fore-runner of today's metal bands (though that's not exactly a good thing ::looks at all the crappy, mundane metalcore bands:: )

I like some songs but they just don't appeal to me.[/color]

Actually, I said that they pretty much started "Christian Death Metal".

It's ok, but it's just a Slayer ripoff.

Dude I don't even listen to slayer, and in my oppinion listening to satanic music isn't good for christians. So living sacrifice seems like a good alternitive.

You should check out Temple of Blood.

I would listen to Slayer if I liked their music, but I don't. Lyrics don't matter to me at all; I just listen to the music. I do listen to some bands that could be considered satanic, but I don't go out of my way to look for them.
