I need help v_v I've read many walkthroughs and they all say the same thing that hasn't been working :/

Playing .hack//Mutation and on the last leafy boss :/ Here are the 3 strategies I used:

1) Go face-on and fight it (everyone died right away cause of the horrible Death and Rebirth attack)

2) Stay back, but close enough to use scrolls. Me and Mistral died (used Sanjuro the last time) but Blackrose survived but commanded her to use First Aid! so we'd ressurect, but nooooooo! She wouldn't for whatever reason (and had enough SP cause she healed herself :/) Then she died and got another game over :/

3) Stay farrrrrr back and didn't even get a chance to do anything, and then all of a sudden EVERYONE died (I wasn't in the attacking range!)

...I need help and REALLY want to beat this! So not as easy as what the walkthrough made it sound :/ (Pfft, what were THEY thinking?!) Either that or the game just plain hates me :/ I mean, if I can't even be giving enough time to attack it decently, how can I let alone BEAT it? (Oh, and I'm lv. 53 in a lv. 48 world :/) Makes me mad enough you have to go through an entire dungeon of around 40 mins long (depending on what you run into) before I get to it >_<

It's been about a year since I've played Mutation. But, since I've recently picked up Quarantine again to clear out the bonus dungeon, I'll give my general combat tips for high-damage enemies.

1. Never get within range of an enemy's melee attack, if you can help it. When Kite dies, there's a very high chance the rest of the party will shortly follow, so keeping Kite alive is always a main priority.

2. Never use anything other than Kite's basic attack or potion healing. If you use a special, you can't access your potions for a short amount of time, which often gives the enemy enough time to kill your party.

3. If the enemy can kill you [or in some cases, your party members] in one attack, try using armor that has high elemental defenses to your enemy's attack type.

4. Kite's main focus should always be on keeping everyone healed.

5. Never hesitate more than half-a-second to use a potion on a party member who has their HP below the "safety zone" (the amount of damage the enemy can dish out in a single "strong" attack.)

6. If you bring a wavemaster, use items to ensure they always have enough MP to attack with. The quicker the enemy dies, the higher chance you have of surviving.

7. If the enemy focuses on melee attacks, you can acquire an easy advantage by making your allies rapid-fire spells while they're still out of melee range. (Casting a spell on an enemy temporarily freezes them in place.) You can also order your allies to keep from charging the enemy by using a certain combat command, which will help, but you have to switch it off again when you want them to attack normally.

Those are all the tips I can think of at the moment. I hope that it helps! If not, you could always try leveling up a few times before making another attempt...

A strategy I used for skeith was to max out kites healing and resserections, grouping with two melee attackers and playing the healer, worked wonders with skeith but i dont remeber magus that well (and i need to beat cubia >< on quarintine)

Yeah I FINALLY ended up beating this guy yesterday, because ONE walkthrough (well boss "cheats" site) finally told me one thing that the other sites didn't: "the amount of leaves Magus still has undefeated, is how powerful his attack will be". THAT is what totally helped! I got Sanjuro to attack the main body while me and Blackrose attacked all the leaves and he hardly attacked us (and even when he did it was NOT to the extent as he used to :/)

So after that EASINESS (for once) I've moved onto Outbreak! ^^ ...still need to find Quarantine so I should keep checking back at EB's to see if they have it...
Thanks for posting though^^

I posted that same thing on the boss thread. A tip for Outbreak - There'll be a 'special sighting' at a dungeon fairly early on in the game. I have a feeling you'll know what I'm talking about. It's a level 70 dungeon, but with three people, you can go to that dungeon and do two things - level everyone to level 70 really quickly, and get an *AWESOME* weapon for Kite. I recommend doing it as soon as possible, and bring a wavemaster with you.

*sigh* Too bad you didn't posted that a couple days ago when I was frustrating myself^^ Yeah I was just mad no walkthrough really specified it...

Thanks for the tip though^^ Yeah I haven't attempted that dungeon just yet (still around lv. 56ish :/) but as soon as I get close to it I will for sure try^^ About using a wavemaster, I've found Wiseman very useful with some of his attacks 0_0

Question though: I'm the type of person who likes getting ALL the secret characters and so I have^^ but now with characters like Mistral and so on saying that they will be "leaving soon" and all, will I know when they'll "disappear" and so on, or will they still be useful for a while longer? (Heh, you see, I was mean on FF7 with the part where Aeries wanders away and that would be the last time she's in your party, I unequipped and sold all of her stuff^^)

You won't know for sure, but it's a good idea to go ahead and start using Wiseman now. Mistral won't be back until near the end of Outbreak or the beginning of Quarantine (I don't honestly remember, sorry...).

But the Dungeon I mentioned eariler is quite easy, and it's not too tough to go through and complete as soon as you get it (I went solo with Kite my first time through and came out fine). I *strongly* recommend you go do it, like, right nwo. It's really not that bad.

Sorry I was a day late with my little strategy, btw.
