Gamespot heralded it as one of the best of all time, with a perfect 10. There was too much hype, so the game couldn't live up to that. I played the first without much knowledge of RPGs, so it was far more memorable.
Plus the fact that the cast of characters was immense turned me off, too.

chrono cross is my favorite psx game of all time, like ever. kinda funny how one person's favorite is another person's disappointment.
anyway's my disappointing game was ffx-2. ffx was soooooooooooo amazing!!! and ffx-2 was so... mediocre... plus all the scantily-clad women were annoying

Devil May Cry 2.
I cried T_T
That game made me cry, too.

( ::snicker:: )
(For me, probably Star Fox Adventures. It was fun for a bit, then you get to that village with the strong guy, and you have to do that annoying pushing game. I tried for weeks and weeks and never could beat it. Then I discovered that you could use a pencil and so completely pwn him with that. I went on and would have beaten the game within a week, but after that I was just turned off on how easy that was. I mean, I tried so hard, and hard, and then a little pencil did it easily. I don't know, but yeah. It was like I had to use the trick (because I have issues with repeated movement like that - I have trouble clapping for more than a few minutes) or I couldn't beat it. Grr. The rest of the game was mediocre, and the ending was probably incredible, but I was just turned off by the one minigame...)
(I suppose I think differently about games than other people - ah well.)
ikimasu wrote:Halo 2. Never in my life have I been SO dissapointed by a sequel. Halo CE was a brilliant game. Halo 2 was.... blah. No semblance of balance, HUGE auto-aim, and worst of all, the game required NO tactics. The closest it comes to tactics is "Grab the power weapon, win."
Link Antilles wrote:When I hit pause and saw a list of Mission Objects, I knew there was a problem with Halo 2. Man, the levels of Halo CE where so open and the battles where super dynamic on the harder difficulties... Not in Halo 2. Interesting places there, but very closed and linear.
Now, Halo 2's awesome multiplayer was it's real saving grace... seriously.
link antillis wrote:Haha, wow. That's pretty funny.
Anyways, I always have LAN parties over at my house, so we mix it up and play with all of the options. I guess they don't do that on Live.
Star Ocean The Second Story was incredible
