School romance

Postby HwaRang777 » Mon Jan 12, 2004 1:39 pm

I'm having a hard problem.

See, I have feelings for my german teacher, but not in any intentional inappropriate way, it's just. . . I don't know her "aura", maybe? It's just that she makes me feel good (in an appropriate way) and I want to know what I should do, tell her about my feelings for her or just forget about it or what? Now, I know my limitations on a lot of things, and I know that I won't stalk her or anything like that (heck I don't have enough time for dinner!) please give me some info to help me with my raging hormones and other stuff. . .

First of all, how old is the teacher?

I do not think that this can turn out well no matter how you do it, but I would have to know more about the siituation.

Er...as he said, how old is this teacher? Also, you'd never hear the end of criticism if you told her how you felt and it got out...which it probably would. Anyway, you're just infatuated, probably. No way you can actually know real love at 14. I don't mean the "I love you Mother" love, but the husband and wife love that's supposed to keep them as one flesh.

Neither do I. Accept early the fact that there will be people you will be attracted to for no good reason -- the fact that you're attracted doesn't make it right, or even practical.

I ran into a situation a while back (right after my wife left, as a matter of fact). I was working at a Little Caesar's Pizza place (as a delievery guy) and started having this infatuation with one of the teenagers who was working there part time.

Understand, not only am I still legally married, had already started standing in faith that God would restore my marriage, but was many, many years older than this girl.

In the end it was mostly emotional back-wash in my life from the situation I was in.. but I found that once I confided in someone whom I could trust, the power this situation had over me disapeared and it pretty much went away almost instantly.

See, I knew the whole thing was nuts, it was wrong... but it was one of those things you just don't tell to people.... a similar issue had already done lots of damage in my marriage, and I knew that.

I'm not saying that this is your situation, but more to the point that we can get feelings from all sorts of places... but feelings shouldn't dictate our actions, and often times they aren't even very accurate.

I agree that you SHOULD NOT tell the teacher this... no telling how they will react and most of your peers won't be as "understanding" as they should be.

Find a close friend or a good solid mentor in your church to confide in, pray over it, and release it to God.... that's not to say you can't be on good terms with the teacher, but most won't want (and really shouldn't) be "buddy/buddy" with their students for ethical reasons as well as others.

Oh, and don't feel bad about the situation either... I've lost count over the years of how many women I've become a blithering idiot in front of. ;)

Sounds like you got a crush mate. Just wait until you notice some nasty habit or something she do that annoys you, then you'll be free.

I completely agree with what Shorraijin said in his post. I had the best English teacher in the entire world, and her class is the reason I am majoring in English (I never had a crush on her), but the reality is that these things will pass. You are on completely different levels of reality now. I'll pray for you, and remember that God will be there for you.

Hey, I've had major 'crushes', as you yankies call it, on tonnes of girls at my school and from my experience: 1) Its best if you DONT tell them because if it goes wrong (which is likely as this is a teacher we are talking about) then things will get 'wierd' between you. 2) Gods not going to make you love someone forever that you're never going to have a chance with. This is just my personal opinion.
I hope it helps!

I can't say I've ever had a crush on a teacher, so I guess I can't really help here. XD
