This testimonial, as the thread title indicates, is not about me. This is about my dad. I owe a lot to God and him. This is his story.
My dad is not from here. He was born on the outskirts of the capital of El Salvador, San Salvador. His was a broken family…no father, practically no mother, and raised by his grandmother. Due to the bloody civil war taking place in that Central American country, my dad immigrated illegally to the U.S. to find work. But God had other plans. After a while, my dad found my mom and they got married. About a month after they got hitched, they also did something great- accepted Jesus Christ into their lives. The dedication, loyalty and faithfulness my dad put into the Holy One was amazing. My dad committed himself totally to Him. And because my dad did that, God was able to use him to bless my mom, my brothers and me. Because of my dad’s decision, God was able to change my life. My dad crossed the Rio Grande River at the age of 17 – without a quarter in his pocket, and unable to even say “hiâ€

I'm thankful you have such a wonderful Christian for a dad, Ice. That is so nice to hear these days, a son singing the praises of his father. God bless.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
