It skipped really badly (which was a disk-write error, not scratches) and the subtitles were often out of sync with the show, and sometimes weren't there at all. But I bought another copy that works awesomely great. As I guy, I'm proud to admit that Kanon made my cry. Three times.

But about the 24 ep. remake, is it coming to America, or will it be Japan only just like the 13 ep version? Either way, I *will* find a way to buy it. I love Kanon ^_^

Could you possibly tell me where I might find this trailer?

^ That's the trailer. Tell me that's not some of the most beautiful animation you've ever seen!

Oh, and then there's also the fact that all five girls are now main characters and there's no more "this episode for this girl" anymore. It's one straight story beginning to end.

Unfortunately, no talk about it or the original coming to America still. I'd love to see Kanon and Air finally get licensed and released as much as you do. And don't be ashamed to have cried during Kanon. Makoto's backstory brought me to tears, as did the final episode.

That trailer is like... in a league of its own. It retains the Kanon feel, but it's so much crisper and sharper. I can't wait for someone to sub that so I can see it. One thing I have to say about the new version I got today - they subbed 'uguu' as 'ughuu'. I don't know if that's the proper way or not... but it just doesn't sit right with me.

Makoto's story was so sad. And poor Ayu... I never expected that last twist towards the end. I knew *something* was up, but I still wasn't expecting what happened. But the last episode was very fulfilling IMO. It set things straight, and I don't think it could've had a better ending to it. I've heard that the game has some differences from the anime; and it would most definitely go more in-depth than the anime did. I'd like to know exactly how the game would end with Makoto (if it's any different), and I'd really like to see all of Mai's story as well.

Agh. Just realized how totally off-topic this all is. Sorry everyone

Welll... I just watched Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka), My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away [I watched these recently... not all at once, lol].

Grave of Fireflies was one which MSP recommended to me, and it was as awesome as he said. It is probably the most profound and life-changing anime that i have ever, or will ever seen. The story is very moving, and i cried at least twice throughout it. I do understand why some people here on CAA have said that they purchased it and cannot make themselves watch it a second time. It is a very heart wrenching tale, but i most definately recommend it, as it shows a completely different side of WWII . People are usually not exposed to these emotions of the other point of view.

My Neighbor Totoro was an anime that has been closely associated with Grave of the Fireflies ever since it went with it as a double feature when first released. Studio Ghibli did this, from my understanding, for basically two reasons:

1) They needed the popularity of the story of Grave of the Fireflies to get people into the theaters so that they would watch Totoro. To quote Nausicaa.net:
no one thought that people would want to see "a movie about a two little kids and a monster in rural Japan"

2) the Sadness of Grave of the Fireflies would be alleviated by the fun, light-heartedness of My Neighbor Totoro.

It was a cute anime. I wouldn't say that i thought it was awsome, but it was a "feel good anime" without really much substance to it with storyline, but the simplistic nature of it created a child-like feel for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. '

Spirited Away, I am sorry to say, was not as awesome as I had first thought. (no one stone me!) I thought it was a bit overrated. Hey, I'm not saying that it wasn't a good anime, and did i enjoy it? YES! But, for all the talk, I suppose I had high expectations. The animation was original, and what less could you expect with the genius of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli?! Some parts of it just didn't make sense to me:
Why did that face-less guy have an obsession with Chihiro? Why did he randomely start eating people? Why, when they had left the bathhouse, did Chihiro suddenly trust the faceless- guy? Why did Chihiro "KNOW" that her parents weren't any of the pigs that Yu-baaba brought out? I mean... i thought that she would use all of her experience and things she learned from her journey to help with her decision, but, no... she just... said it, which i thought was really weird.
It ended way too fast for me. The pace picked up immensly near the end... which was mainly where things ceasing making sense for me. I think, if they made the end a bit longer, the end could have had less loose ends. Again, i thought it was good... good animation, music, concepts, story, characters... but it didn't all come together in a way that made me think: "Wow, this really lived up to my expectations." I do recommend it!
DO YOU FLY FOR FUN?!

I give props to these ANIMEs/MANGAs: GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES, AZUMANGA DAIOH, MONSTER, SAILOR MOON SERIES, AKAGE NO ANNE, BOTTLE FAIRY, MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE, PARANOIA AGENT, YAKITATE!! JAPAN, UTAWARERUMONO, KANON, FULL MOON WO SAGASHITE, & YOTSUBA&!

I really liked Rozen Maiden (and Traumend)... anime maybe still be "unfinished" but still pretty good even where they ended it. Haven't seen Maria, but that's my advice^^

I was skeptical when I saw you say remake, but visually at least it looks excellent. I just hope it can have the emotional impact of the original. The way it ended was the way I wanted it to end, but thought it would be impossble to end that way... so many plot elements need to be kept though if it wants to be truly good

I've just started on my Martian Successor Nadesico collection. Seen the first three episodes so far.

Where has this series been all my life? My only complaint is that the font on the subtitles is too hard to read, meaning I'll be sticking with the dub from now on...not that that's a bad thing.

I just finished v. 4 of Princess Tutu. Have I mentioned lately that I love this show.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I just finished Howl's Moving Castle and I must say i enjoyed it a bajillion times better than Spirited Away. The story, the character developement, the music!!! All of it was superior in my opinion. It was quite a charming tale and Recommend it 10000000000000000%!!!!! The end was also much better than the end to Spirited away... and that is my Take on it.

I should really sit down a finish one series before I move on to the next.... @_@

Anyway, right now I have been enjoying my way through Samurai 7 but some times I jump back for a few episodes of some other series I havent finished. It all depends on my mood.

Right now I have these other titles are in my anime pool:

Hikaru no Go (This is a fun show, it got me hooked on Go ^_^)

Hajime Ippo (Boxing is cool, especially when Ippos isnt being all whiny)

Scrapped Princess (It hooked me, but it just cant seam to reel me all the way in to finish it...)

Of course there is always the new episodes of Naruto and Bleach. ^_^

I guess thats all Ive got goingfor now. Though Im always on the look-out for somthing new and good, I had a bad taste of Basilisk the other day. Id stay clear of that one if I were you... A bit to creepy and Gorey for me... And I only watched the first episode... XP
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
