A Sad Time At Work

Postby Stephen » Mon Mar 20, 2006 9:16 pm

Well, I found out last night...that a really nice man where I worked passed away. He was only 59. Woke up around 3am sunday morning, told his wife his chest hurt a bit. So she made him some coffee and when he went to watch some TV, she went back to bed. When she awoke at 7, he was there in the chair, dead. Only a little of his coffee gone. One can guess shortly after she went back to bed, he had a heart attack. His passing is quite a loss at work. He was a hard worker, and a good man to everyone he worked with...even if they were not good to him. Sadly, I do not belive he was a beliver. And his Grandson had just passed away this past Christmas. So prayer for the family would be awesome. Especially his wife. This is going to be a very hard time for her. His name was Wayne for those who are curious.

It must be hard on the wife, seeing as she may feel guilty for choosing to go to sleep >_>

I'm praying for them

The death of a loved one is always hard to deal with, especially when it happens unexpectedly. I will pray for his wife and family, that she does not blame herself for her husband's death, and that the entire family be comforted and helped through this time of grief.

Holy second guesses Batman. I'm sure she will indeed look back on how that day could have been different.

Truly sad story. I hope you are wrong about his faith, Ark. In any case, I hope the hand of God is seen in this for those who are left wondering.

I guess from what I am hearing, Wayne had really been outspoken to those near him that he diden't care about living anymore. (He had raised his Grandson like a son) I think the poor guy just gave up. I have heard of dieing of a broken heart...but man. Makes you wonder.

Well, update. I went to the funeral tonight after work. Well, it was more a viewing. Very nice crowd there. Wayne would have been happy. It effected me a lot more then I thought it would. I guess the finality of it all. *sigh* We all will have our time in the box though. Its those who remain after you die that suffer more.

Thanks for letting us know. May the peace of God reign in the hearts of the family and friends, and may He draw people to Himself through this.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)
