Christian Manga to be published in January

Postby superninjaspy » Wed Nov 19, 2003 4:46 pm

Boys and Girls: Lend an ear. There's a new, independent comic book studio, Riotgear Graphic Novels, that's interested in putting out stories filled with the message of hope that comes from Christ.

Our first book is coming out this January. The pencils are almost done, and we've got the finances lined up to print. What we need to know is: does anyone care? Are there enough fans serious about both faith and manga to make this work? Because we'd like to see it blow up in a big way. We'd like to bring to the comic book scene what U2 and P.O.D. have brought to the music world: art that stands on it's own alongside the world's, with a heartbeat that points it's audience to Christ.

This could be nothing... just a book that get's published once, then everything folds because no one was into it. Or it could be the beginning of something huge. And I really believe that which way it goes is up to you people.

Go check out http://www.riotgeardesign.com/theway.html, see for yourself.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.

A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me

Some of the Japanese people in my complex have some christian manga that is somewhat familiar "anime" style, but it's a JP only release...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

At first glance I thought the girl on the cover was Kagome O_o;;; (Black hair and the white-green colors looking like her uniform)

But I'm definitely getting a copy when it's out ^^ Must must must get Christian manga! XD

a christian manga in print form? first I'v seen or anything. I'd love to help out but want to read first so if you can send me a copy just contact me. I'd love to and can be a huge help but don't endorse things without experiencing first

Sounds good. You have intrigued me.

What stores are you planning to ship it out to?

Hi again, everyone.

I just wanted to ask a important question. I tried to see if I could preorder this manga from my local Walden's Bookstore, and they said that they never heard of it. :( I was all like "Wa?" :eyebrow:

Does anyone know the date of it's release? It would really help. :thumb:

From what I understand, the studio does not have enough resources to get it distributed through comic/bookstores at the moment. I think you have to order online directly from the studio. It's already been released (if they're on schedule) and I suggest emailing superninjaspy about it or visit the website. They should be able to process an order for you. :)

the female character is tres kawaii. I like it.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Yeah, there are some Manga that have bad stuff...Rurouni Kenshin isn't but there are a lot of others. A Christian manga will be nice.

Same here, heh.

I'll be buying that. Looks good!
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!
