Important Paper and God

Postby Doubleshadow » Sun Feb 19, 2006 12:13 pm

I have known since the eighth grade I am called to represent Christ in the scientific community, this is my mission field. Now, aside from small things and minor one-on-one witnessing encounters, I have a chance to really stand up for God in front of my professor, or accidentally make Him look bad. I'm writing a five page research paper on the ethics of using stem cells for research for my genetics class, and I'm going to argue the Biblical perspective as well. I want to do a good job, not only because I want to be a witness, but because this is the kind of spiritual battle I will be fighting for the rest of my life as long as I am called to serve in the sciences. I really need prayer for spiritual discernment and focus.

I will pray for you. I have a friend who is also really concerned about this topic so I can understand your concern and the challenge you have in discussing this. I wish you well.

Sounds good. Lifting you up, bro.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Oh boy, as a fellow scientist and sister-in-Christ, I have to say I was never really fond of these type of discussions. But it is necessary.

Will pray that His Wisdom will guide you, and His spirit will give you boldness to share in Christ's Love.

Thank you all, I got the first draft done, six pages, and my current mental state is the following ---> (X_X) Wow, that was hard, I think my brain has a cramp. I need to have some Christian friends of mine proofread it for me, I don't think it is up to apologetic quality yet.

Depend on God for perseverance in your calling. I can't say I'm called to this debate either, but I hope that God uses you for His work in this field. I'll pray that your project goes well.

I'll be praying. Don't worry about the grade. What matters is you're opportunity to stand true to your faith.
