Horrible week.

arg.. I've been bottling up my feelings too long, and i need to get them out...

anyway, i've had a horrible week, esp. at school... For a contrast, i've been one of those straight a students since 10th grade, through college. Calc II was a blow-off course to me.

However, this semester has been much more difficult then any other semester i've had. i'm getting about constant b+'s in speech, and last week found out that i got a 78 on my first physics test... but there was a ton of extra credit work the teacher allowed us to do so i was like, ok, just do extra credit, get up to an a again, and keep going.

however, i've been having a rough time memorizing the formulas in class, and the real clencher came when i just got a 70 on my english paper - the one that i worked over 15 solid hours on...

Besides this, my last job ended last november, and the callback from a job that looked most promising for me to get keeps being delayed...

anyway, i have no idea what to do - gradually, i've stopped playing video games entirely this semester, stopped reading, continued to decline offers to hang out with friends, even using the time i used to go to work for (As opposed to regular free time last semster) just to keep up on homework, and have had next to nill free time...

my dad nearly flipped when he heard that i got my first (and only) a- in a class before, and i need to keep up straight a's if i'm going to be able to afford college... so i'm really not sure how to continue... more study? stop sleeping? just blame it on a slew of poor teachers? bleh.

i'm just all mixed up emotionally... any prayer would be greatly appreciated.

I will pray for you. Honestly, it sounds to me like you are working so hard you are getting burned out. And from personal experience, I would HIGHLY recommend you take some time out for useless recreation. I was in ROTC my freshman year in college, and I did my best to focus only on schoolwork without doing any recreational reading, game playing, or the like. My grades took a hit, despite the fact that I was working like crazy. Finally, one weekend I practically forced myself to take some time off and pick up some books from the library. Nothing special, just light reading I enjoyed. I began taking just small amounts of time during the day to read - during lunch, a few minutes while waiting for class to start, that type of thing. My grades improved, and I was alot happier too.

aw *hug* i'm sorry you're having to deal with that!! I relate...sometimes grades can be SO stressful. Not just that, but having pressure on you to do well from family. yea...I dont have any good advice, but i will pray. take care...dont burn out. Find some way to relax and be at peace with God..this pressure is temporary. God has your back. :)

take care

Puritan's advice to take a break from heavy studying for a while seems very good. I will pray to God for you, as He is the source of all wisdom and knowledge, and He is sure to grant these things if one keeps asking.

O_O
I wish I had such a gift in schoolwork...

anyways,
Do you drink coffee?
If you don't drink much caffeine rich drinks, you're in advantage, because then you can use that as a 'brain - booster' on times when you really need it, when it gets critical to memorize, etc...
also, eat nuts when your doing some work, not too much, but still some.
Also get alot of Omega 3 and 6 in your diet, they help you think clearly. There are also tees made from ginkgo that support a good brain function.

Other than that, I'll be praying that G-d'll give you strength and give you favor.
