Indigo Prophecy

Anyone here played this game besides me?? I got it for my birthday and I thought it was really cool. It's very unique among video games. The plot reminded me of a mix of X-Files, Silent Hill, and the Matrix. Some of the action sequences were definitly Matrix inspired. I did feel that the ending was kind of dissapointing though.

I had been following development for a while since Quantic Dream is behind it (Omikron still ranks among my favorite games), and have played the demo about 8 times, but I've still yet to grab a copy; I guess I'm waiting for it to drop a bit more

OOOoooo My gosh! This game is INSANELY good!

My friend let me borrow it and I am playing it right now. The gameplay is EXCELLENT! As well is the storyline. A tad creepy at times too

by the way, there are 3 endings to the game. An awesome one, a bad one, and a mediocre one.

This game looks incredible... The PS2 version seems to be hard to find... I looked on several Gamestores and they only feature the Xbox version. I found the PS2 version in a rental store ONCE but it was on the "1 day" section so I couldn't put it towards my "5 for 10" deal...

I haven't looked for it recently since I no longer have my PS2

I saw the startup video where he killed that dude in the restroom. It was freaky weird!!! It looks pretty interesting allthough I probably wont get it.

Hmm... Don't care much for Plugged in, but I like where it says, basically, that Video Games are becoming artistic expressions... Now, I don't know whether Indigo Prophecy delivers on that as well as some of my faves (Metal Gear, Silent Hill 2) but I'm glad there are more cinematic games out there... I really want to try this now... As a side note, "unfortunately" isn't a preface I'd use simply because something is violent, but FotF seems to believe that any violence in art or media is wrong. *sigh* I liked that review, anyhow...

i don't really care for pluggedin's reviews either but they actually were pretty nice towards this game (which may i add rawks). and Myoti it basically plays like no other game i have played. U r in a third person perpective and u walk around in the usual ways but this is were it is different when say u get close to a table on the top of the screen u see <mark and a little icon say like a fork and then u hit that and u will sit down and eat. it is crazy inventive i give to thumbs up from the demo i played and i am gonna purchase the game pretty quickly

AMM doesn't typically write reviews on M-rated games, but I was asked to comment on it and said the following:

There need to be more games like this, but not exactly like this.

The gameplay is fantastic. The storytelling method is good.

The plot and the content are a train wreck. The plot started out somewhat decent, but once it started getting full effect it quickly went out the window. Think that
Julianne Moore movie "The Forgotten" where it intrigues you at first, but then it quickly shifts gears into "what the heck??" mode. Same thing here.

Anyway, as far as content, it definitely deserved the M-rating and the content label explains it well so I won't go into that. But if I'd did end up having to review this using the grading scale, it wouldn't have gotten any higher than a 44/100 for content.

I don't feel like it was a waste of my time, but there's nothing in it that's redeemable enough to make a recommendation on the main website.

I'd like to stress the first part... more like that, just not exactly like that.

Did you know that the U.S. Version is a lot more cleaner than the European verison. (Called Farenheit, that was the original title of the game) The european version has uncut sex-scenes in it. While the U.S. got rid of them.

The American version does have two sex scenes (one optional) but they aren't super graphic or anything. So were there more than just two in Farenheit? Are there any websites that do a comparison between the versions??

I played the demo quiet a few times, but I haven't picked it up. I might check it out if I get an Xbox again.

Actually the U.S. Version has 3 (so does european) They were minor sex scenes, but those had MOST of the clips cut out.

The european version.... borderline softcore perhaps?

I'm interested in the game...I love the concept (games where your choices REALLY effect what happens always intriques me..heck, games where the only thing your choices does is change what character gets kidnapped by a badguy at the end intriques me! XD) but..the content...*twitch* I don't mind some M-rated violence (although Resident Evil 4 is the only m-rated game I own) but...I think if my parents saw me playing a game with a sex scene in it, they'd have a heart attack. And, really, I don't know if I could handle it well. ^^;

I just got it on Saturday, and it's somewhere between 5-8 hours. Just as a suggestion, get used to using the camera buttons (R1 and L1 on PS2, not sure about Xbox) because the camera can be somewhat difficult at times, especially when you're on a timer.

Original. That's the only word I can use to describe Indigo Prophecy. I played it with Grubb, and the different actions make a viable difference in how things play out. I was immensely pleased with the demo, but I'm not sure about the other crap they threw in there for what seems like no reason.

This game friggin rocks! Well at least 3/4 of it does. It *really* loses steam storywise about that point where it goes into the typical conspiracy wierdness factors. But the characters are awesome, the music is good as it includes an original score along with some awesome licensed music, including Martine Topley-Bird. it's super engrossing storywise but is a good game to chill to, while keeping ya into it. One thing I deffinetly liked about this game is what I like to call the chill factor. I could deffinetly just sit back for a good hour and a half and not feel like I had to concentrate on every miniscule detail or risk death ala an Action/FPS. Well except that is for when the tension racketed up tenfold during the "Simon Says You Die!" scenarios.

One thing that really annoyed me was during certain situations where you had a time limit and were overlooking a big area the camera would get really wonky. If anyone remember the Hangar in Wishita you know what I'm talking about... It was *extremely* difficult to move in a set direction due to the camera placement and the controls in these wide areas.

A sequel needs to be made but they need to keep up the story the whole way through as it was a major let down near the end. But this is one of the most original games in years and I highly recommend it.

A word of warning there are some "bad religion" issues that no one seems to have touched on. Lucas's brother Paul is a priest and is shown in a very positive light as a strong willed character due to his faith and loyalty to his brother so I'm glad they did that. There's nothing outright against God said by any character or implied. But there is some pagan religious overtones at points in rituals, symbold, and such. It's always shown in a bad light and perverse but it's there just so some of you know. There are also some moments of fortune telling, palm reading, tarot cards, that sorta thing, but it's only in two scenes that will end pretty quickly.
