Hey folks. I just registered today, but I've been an extreme anime fan since I was about six. I've also been an extreme Christian all my life. Many might argue that the two don't mix (yeah, that an my obssession with communist dictators hehehe). However, anime is a beautiful and profound form of artwork. Just like any other genre; there is good stuff and bad stuff. However, most anime fans tend to glorify the bad, thereby causing people to sterrotype all anime as having "low morality standards." *sighz* Oh if only all anime fans were like you folks. Hrmm...I'll try to post here once in awhile when I get the chance.

Let's see...I was raised Christian, but I feel that I truly began to understand what it was all about when I was like 11 and finished reading the entire New Testament (King James version...I'm kinda an advocate for the original King James or New American Standard versions). I was absolutely touched by the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus, who would of course be my ultimate "sheperd." As for other Christians, I'd say I learned a lot from my dad. My current church pastor has also helped me grow in the scripture a lot. Favorite passages? Heh. I have a lot! I really like Jeremiah 6:16 though. "Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls."
Yes, I know what a gift I have in my salvation by the grace of Jesus Christ. A gift I did absolutely nothing to merit. By His blood alone were my sins forgiven, giving me a personal relationship with God the Father.

Oh also, for the Christian anime question, I recently learned about something called Serenity, a christian manga. It has a mix of American cartoon and Japanese manga sorta mixed in (in my humble opinion). It seems like it's off to a clunky start right now, but I'm interested enough to keep reading.
As for anime, ask around to different members. I'm kinda new myself but from what I hear, most of the Christian animes are focused on a young aged audience.

I had a similar reaction of disbelief, but I think it came from an entirely different place. As an outsider to the religion, literally all the websights I have seen regaring both Christianity and Anime involved angry mothers decrying the evils of Anime, and people claiming that it was the work of Satan.

It was more than refreshing to see a group of people open minded enough to see that an art form isn't inherently evil.

Doubleshadow, ooooh I gotcha. I think I'm pretty "gifted" in writing Christian fantasy (along the lines of C.S. Lewis). I'm not quite sure what you meant by "healing," but I do not believe that human beings can "heal" in the spiritual sense of the word.
