New Year's Eve Plans

Postby Rev. Doc » Wed Dec 31, 2003 12:52 pm

So, what does everyone have planned for New Year's Eve and Day?

My wife's Sunday School class has a gathering tonight at 7:00 which will include food (which I don't need being on a diet), fun and fireworks. Also means I will miss the Iron Chef marathon this evening. But I've decided to tape that and will watch it tomorrow if my wife will let me after the Rose Parade and taking down Christmas lights and decorations.

We're going to go see Return of the King again. You like Iron Chief too?

Yes, watch it every week. Drives the wife nuts as does my anime. You should hear her when I put one of my music CDs in. But she loves me anyway...so she says. That or she just married me so that when I die she will get my DVD collection.

Sitting at home. I've got a miserable cold. :sniffle: Of course, I'd be sitting at home anyway, but a cold makes it all that much worse :sniffle:

Hmm, well...almost all of my friends live 1700 miles north of me, so tonight mom and I are cooking up a feast. Chimichongas, taquitos, queso, and orange sherbert punch for everyone! I'll probably ring in the new year watching such classics as The Patriot or Gladiator or something. Tomorrow, though, my mother's family is coming in for a big honey roasted ham feast at our place.

Most likely just what I do most nights. Play some games online like Halo, Spearhead, Zerohour, or Neverwinter nights. Chat on aim. Hanging out on CAA. I might watch the Two Towers. Listen to music. Raid the fridge. Talk on the phone. Try to crash windows. Work on a new sig. Surf the Web. Watch some TV. Play something on the 'cube or X-box. Eat.

I guess it's a bit late to tell what I will be doing for New Years Eve, but I'm going to tell what I did do for New Years Eve (obvious, ne?). I really can't quite remember yesterday morn. I think I saw Spirited Away again, but, then again, maybe I didn't but I wanted to. Anyway, I saw the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring including all of its extras. So that kept me occupied until the new year finally arrived. I had breakefast for dinner. That was it.

For New Years Day, I will definately be seing Spirited Away, and maybe see The Two Towers (without the features [not enough time]). For dinner I will be going over to a friends house for a party like I do every year.

I will tell you what my plans were for New Year's Eve/Day. I would have posted them before, but I did not have access to a computer from the 30th to the 1st. I attended the Winterfest 2003 Christian Conference in Lynchburg, VA on these days. On New Year's Eve, they had bands playing until midnight (Relient K, and Tait at the end), but we (that is, my youth group and I) left early to celebrate on our own. That involved sparkling cider, Edward Scissorhands on tv, and sleeping. On New Year's Day, they had more speakers/bands, including Superchic[k], Audio Adrenaline, and some other guy who I had never heard of, and who wasn't very good. :P Then we drove home around noon. After that, I had to go to my aunt's house for a New Year's dinner, which would have been more fun if I wasn't so tired from Winterfest. Finally, I went home, did a little reading, and got some much-needed sleep. :thumb:

I was up too late the night of the 30th with computer issues (as in, restoring ours) so the last thing I wanted to do was stay up late New Year's Eve; I was just too tired. I went to bed at about 11 and slept in until 10 on New Year's Day. Exciting, huh?
