Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk

Ho boy. I dusted off the MECO CD and put that in today. I have *missed* that disco Star Wars track. I know people out there have heard this.

Plus, the best-of has Wizard of Oz, Star Trek, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and several cuts from The Empire Strikes Back. Less workable are the Superman redux and various R&B covers, but otherwise, it's got a beat and you can swing a lightsabre to it.

I could still be champ, but I'd feel bad taking it away from one of the younger guys. - George Foreman

Does it have the (wisely) hidden "Lapti Nek" and "Yub Nub"?

Not on this (this is the greatest hits CD, not that specific LP). Why, what are those?

The songs from Return of the Jedi that Lucas ommitted on his remastering. Lapti Nek was sung by a muppet looking band in Jabba's palace, while some twi'lek danced.

Yub Nub was sung by the ewoks in the original when they celebrated the destruction of Death Star II

Ah. In that case, that would be no. ;)

From your description, it sounds like the result had Meco gotten his hands on them would have really been ... something.

Yes... and as bad as the originals were, they could only be improved I think

Why, is there somewhere to hear a clip from them? Now I'm curious.
