As We Wept [Death of a friend]

Postby Lengai » Sat Jan 21, 2006 9:04 pm

News these days rarely brings good tidings. For me, I've heard some on the worst. My friend from seventh grade, Nicole Hood, was in a bad car accident, hit a tree. She made it to the hospital in a coma.

She died this morning.

And I remember, she was a character for my manga entry to TokyoPop. She was a pretty girl and a beautiful person. She was one of those people who just glowed. I remember classes with her, going to a birthday party with her..and yet, I didn't know her that well. We were friends when we were around eachother, but didn't go out of the way to socialize. I'm heartbroken to say I don't know if she knew Jesus or not. By the way she lived her life, I have to think that she's at rest with the Lion of Judah. My heart tells me she had true life. But these are things I won't know until my time comes as well.

Things like this make you really think about how fragile and evanescent life is. Gone, like that. I have cried for a friend lost to the horrors of a violent accident. I hope to do a memorial for her soon.

Please pray for her family through this tough time, as well as those affected.

I too, know what this kind of loss is like, for we lost someone at our school in a similar circumstance.

I shall pray

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
-2 Corinthians 1:3-4

I'm sorry to hear about this. Something similar happened to on of my friends a few years ago. I'll pray for her family's comfort through this.

Oh, gosh! That's terrible! I am so sorry!

I'll be praying for you and all the people who knew this seemingly exceptional young lady.

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Light and Jewels - by Mourning September
Hospital beds come too quickly these days.
I saw her just lay there fighting for her last look at love.
All she wanted was to see beauty in her existence.
She never knew.
Death came like a thief to break her free,
and carry her to life.
It stole her from all that she loved
and saved her from what could have come.
After all of this I know
she saw a door standing open,
with lights and jewels and fields forever,
let her braid a flower in her hair
(and there stood the Christ)
She never knew she would see you this soon.

Thanks for the support and prayers, everyone.

ya, I went through the same thing. (I'm at the same school as Rambo) You can believe me when I say that the death of your friend truely hurts me. Knowing what that's like changes your perspective forever, and I can truely identify. I will be definately praying for you and for the family.

Brett: "Doesn't matter. It's going to change anyway."

Brett: "Why do they call it tourist season if you can't shoot them?"
