Hi...I'm new here...

Postby jon_jinn » Thu Jan 19, 2006 8:04 pm

Hi. I'm new here and I'm pretty new to the world of forums too. Anyways, I used to come to this site only to read the reviews on the mangas and animes but now that I'm officially of age to join (13!!!), I can finally become a member and get to know other fellow christians while talking about the latest anime and manga. One of the main reasons I joined was to find more manga series that are good but not filled with too much objectionable content; mainly foul language and the unreasonable and uncalled for nudity that I find to be very disturbing when reading some of the best mangas I've ever encountered. Well, here's my profile.
Profile:
Age: 13
Name: Jonathan
Location: Sacramento, CA
Fav. Mangas: Naruto, Bleach, Black Cat, Prince of Tennis, Hunter X Hunter, Eyeshield 21, Tsubasa, and many others...
Fav. Animes: I'm not a very big fan of anime since I don't have cable and my internet is dial-up so I can't really download anime. My friend was able to get me the entire series of Full Metal Alchemist which I kinda stopped understanding at around episode 35...
Fav. Video Game: Super Smash Bros. Melee!!!! This game rocks!!
Fav. Past times: Drawing. I love to draw. Although my drawings aren't very good, that doesn't stop me from drawing. I'm learning to add more detail and my dream is to become a manga artist when I grow up if that's God's plan for me.
Other info: I became a christian when I was 5. I can't really remember how but my father's a Paster so I am blessed to live in a nice christian household. I have a brother who's a senior at UCLA and a sister who's also a senior in high school. Anyways, I hope I can get to know and make many friends here. I feel a little odd since I'm only thirteen though.

Hey there, and welcome to CAA! Haha, I'm sure that since you've been a lurker up 'til this point, you probably know a lot of us better than we know you, but anyways, I'm sure you'll have tons of fun now that you can interact! Oooh, and I LOVE Tsubasa! Haha, it's so great! Also, may I suggest Rurouni Kenshin? You may have heard of it, but if you haven't read/watched it, you should definitely give it a try! It's my personal favorite manga, haha! Anyways, have lots of fun here!

See you around the boards!

Well, I guess I'm not the only one knew here. Anyways, I remember someone suggesting that I try reading Rurouni Kenshin. I've read it already and I didn't go very far. Only up to about volume 15. I stopped after that cause I didn't want to keep buying them and I don't live really close to any book stores so I can't really keep up with the series. Also, what's Hamjime Mashite about? Sounds kinda like a sports manga (Ex: Hajime no Ippo).

Hahaha, that's sad, but understandable... (I suggested Kenshin, by the way). Oh, and Hajimemashite means welcome in Japanese, I do believe. :)

Yep. We would get DSL, but it's not available for our phone line. I don't really understand what that means but my dad said that if we moved our house seven feet to the left, then we'd be able to get it. Guess it's God's will that we shouldn't. But at least I know that he has something even better planned for us. Hajimemashite means "welcome"??? Wow. I thought it was two words because I think Hajime means "start" or something like that.

Yeah. I download the manga and I'm on like chapter 170, but since we can't talk about that stuff then I'll talk about the anime. Anyways, I've never seen the anime (slow dial up and no cable) and if it comes to America, it'll probably be on cartoon network. Darn. I've heard many people say that the manga's better though.

I've never read it but I read a review on it. It's about a boxer and it's like over 60 volumes long!! I don't know what type of content will be featured in it so be warned...
