Back in the day before I got back into WoW, I had a 20 Mesmer/Elementalist. Was in a sweet guild too, we were one of the few American guilds in the beginning who consistantly made it to the Hall of Hero's or whatever it's called XD

Been too long since I played, but I do remember that I was always the first target for enemies. Nothin' like a good Mesmer to put a Monk/Ele/Necro out of commision.

Oh you got sucked in WoW like me? :)

Actually my credit for that game is about to expire, and I am not going to pay for anymore. It's too expensive, and more importantly will take up too much of my time. GW is more of a casual thing, suited for guys like me who don't want to dedicate a heap of time to gaming.

Maybe you could try getting into GW again. LOL.

Just wanted to notify CAA members who play Guild Wars - in case you haven't discovered, north of Dargon's Lair is a new place called Tomb of the Primeval Kings.

Level 28 mobs there. I tried with henchmen (2 healers, 2 mages, 2 fighters, 1 archer). Dead in 5 minutes. You need a pretty good team to survive I think.

Been told some bosses drop two green items each.

Hi Kraine,

Not sure what you mean by if anyone follows the rules (do you mean unspoken rules, e.g. 'be polite', etc.?)

Not a lot of swearing from my experience. In fact all swearwords are blocked out with hyphens.

The world is smaller than the World of Warcraft's one. If you are hardcore and do nothing but play the game everyday, I think you'd get through all the town areas in a week. But there is replayability in terms of new areas that open up.

There are only 20 levels, so levelling up is not really a grinding experiece. It is more about getting the skills and fighting the right skill combo to see you through each battle (i.e. more strategy than levelling up).

Once you buy the game, it is free to play after that with no subscription fees. It's an action-oriented RPG, so there's not of a lot tweaking involved. In my opinion it's worth getting.

I hope that helped. :)

I started my own guild since I first got the game, so don't really feel like ditching my members, even though most of us are no longer playing (due to work, study, etc.) PM me if you wish to know my character names.

I haven't seen anyone get around the swear filters - though if you use numbers to represent characters, you could.

You can't kill steal in this game, unless you wait around 2 minutes for the lock on the drop assigned to a particular player to expire. Most people pick up their loot before the 2 mins is up though.

not many people swear in my experience...and you cant really kill steal since you are only with your party when you go out and fight...

i like the way they talk about the level 20 cap

"The level cap of 20 is a fundamental balance mechanism for Guild Wars, a game that revolves around player skill. The leveling system allows you to track your progress as you start a character. But by Level 20, your character is fully trained and is ready to experience the most exciting content in the game."

i find this very true :)
